“It was built against the will of the immortal gods, and so it did not last long.”
-Homer
  Troy.
Not necessarily disappointing. A lot of grass and weeds. A bush here, a bush there.
Cody.
Yes, Rah?
We aren’t there yet. Glancing behind me, I saw Myrah with a cheeky grin.
Notos hesitated at the treeline, glancing around. I locked eyes with Myrah and she moved closer to Notos to shoulder him. He flinched away, giving her an incredulous look. She smiled curtly before swallowing.
“Everything alright, erm- Notos?” Her eyes flickered up at me before fixing on him.
“I- yes. Apologies, human, there is just a presence here. I’m not sure I trust it…” I rolled my eyes.
Be nice, Cody. He did say they betrayed someone he trusts, and I think I sense something here, as well. Maybe it’s a wall or dome covering the area that’s supposedly hidden?
I shrugged and Notos flinched. I glared at him when he turned to look at me. “Okay… maybe one of you should go first? In case they know I-“
“You’re scared. Just say that.”
“Cody,” Myrah warned sharply, although she was very obviously amused. “I can go first. Do I just walk forward? There seems to be a path over there.”
She pointed to something on her right. “No, I will go first.”
Myrah rolled her eyes and Notos stared at me. I walked in the direction she pointed, pushing back the realization that Notos would be behind either Myrah or I. There did seem to be a path through the thick undergrowth. It was almost more of a tunnel with how tightly knit the trees overhead latched.
I inhaled deeply, noticing the powerful presence the closer I got. I quickened my approach. Something was wrong; it didn’t feel like anyone was ever supposed to even be as close as I was, which was about five feet.
I don’t like this. Notos seems more nervous than before. Almost as if in anticipation. He is expecting something.
I continued forward, not looking back. Shadows fell over me and the presence dissipated completely. I continued a few paces before calling to Myrah. She was still in eyeshot, speaking with Notos. Notos caught my eye and I swore I saw guilt flash in them. He was also relaxed, despite what Myrah said. I frowned. Myrah didn’t lie.
He was expecting something, and, whatever it was, was supposed to harm me.Â
