Jordyn’s POV
I didn’t get much sleep last night to be honest. I was happy that I had Selene back in my arms, but the thought of him touching her, sent my blood to a boil. I look over to my right to see she’s still asleep with her hair cascaded all over her pillow and down her naked back. I get up slowly and put on some sweats. I stand over her and admire her pure beauty and kiss her forehead and leave the room quietly.
I make it to the kitchen where I see her parents. “Oh good morning Jordyn. We didn’t expect you guys to be up so early.” Olivia says making breakfast.
I shake my head. “It’s just me. I couldn’t sleep.”
David nods. “Me either. But that bastard is in custody. I called to make sure.” I nod and give a slight smile although it doesn’t make me feel any better.
I hear sniffling and see Olivia shaking. “Olivia?” I get up and go to her and turn her around and her face is red with tears pouring out. I admittedly hold her in my arms and allow her to coat my jacket in her tears.
“She couldn’t talk to us. She couldn’t talk to me! I’m her mother and she couldn’t even talk to me. I’m a horrible mother.” She sobs out.
Although I somewhat believe that they were terrible parents for their backwards thinking, they’re changing and not many people do that. “Hey you’re not. Neither of you are bad parents. You may feel like it was too late, but I’m positive she’s happy and proud of you guys. Your opinion wouldn’t matter to her if she didn’t love you guys.” I say and they nod in understanding.
“Mom? Mom, why are you crying?” Selene asks coming in still rubbing her eyes from sleep. I let her parents walk over to her and hug her. “Guys I’m ok. Please don’t cry.” She says wiping her moms tears.
“We know sweetie. We’re just sorry we made it feel like you couldn’t talk to us. But we’re here. No matter what.” David says and tears start to fall from Selenes and it breaks my heart.
They break apart and Olivia goes back to cooking. I walk over and wipe her tears with my thumb, she slightly jumps but then sees it’s me and relaxes. This is going to hurt. “Hey beautiful.”
She smiles. “Hey handsome.” We kiss and we both hum in content. “How’d you sleep?” I shake my head and purse my lips. “Why baby?” She grabs the sides of my face and leans our foreheads together when I sigh. “I’m fine baby. But I do want to leave today.”
“You don’t want to spend the holidays with us honey? It’s Christmas.” David says in the softest voice I’ve heard from a man.
“I do but I can’t sleep here. It’s not you guys. It’s just I don’t feel safe right now in this house where he was. Just not right now. I’ll be fine.” She says and I’d be lying if I said I believed that but her parents do as they nod.
So that’s what we did, we ate breakfast together and I got to know her parents. Apparently David is a retired cop, go figures and Olivia is a retired medic for the marines, she’s a hard ass. As we talked I could see the pride they have for Selene even when she talks about her sexuality and her relationship with me. I really do hope they stay like this or continue to grow and it’s not just a ploy, I know it would hurt her.
After breakfast, we packed our stuff in my car and then we watched a few Christmas movies before it was time to go. “It was a pleasure of meeting you Jordyn. Thank you for taking care of our little girl.” Olivia says and I feel Selene squeeze my hand, she’s happy.
“Well I would say the pleasure is all mine but under the circumstances of why I came I guess not. But i am happy to have met the people who created such a beautiful soul.” I say looking at Selene who is gleaming.
“I love you guys.”
“We love you too.” They hug and then we get in the car and head back home.
“Well,” she takes a breath. “That did not go how I thought it would.” She chuckles and I look at her with concern in my eyes. “What’s wrong?”
I shrug. “You’re laughing.” I narrow my eyes. “It’s just you went through something traumatic Selene.” She sighs. “I think when the holidays are over, you should go see someone.” I say honestly.
She scoffs. “Jordyn I’m fine. I don’t need to see a therapist for anything.” She says.
I look at her confused. “Baby, aren’t you a psychiatrist? You of all people should know the impact on what saying you’re fine does.”
She groans and my jaw clenches. “Jordyn stop! I said I’m fine. Let me be fine, please.” She yells and then tones it down. I sigh and nod reluctantly. “Thank you. I’m going to sleep. All that talking and food made me sleepy.” I smile and nod at my sleeping beauty.
After 4 long, boring hours of driving, we finally made it back to her apartment. “Baby. Selene.” I shake her a little and then kiss her cheek. I feel her stir and then her eyes open. “We’re here baby.” I say.
She nods and then stretches. I get out to grab her bags and then open the door for her. “Thank you baby.” We get to her apartment and she opens the door and Zarina immediately engulfs her in a big hug. “Rina! God.”
“I missed you bitch.” She looks up at me with a smile. “Thank you.” I nod and they go to the living room and talk. I don’t know if Zarina knows but I won’t be the one to tell her. If Selene says she’s fine I can only respect that until she tells me she’s not.
“So I’m going to go, I need to sleep after the drive.” I say and Selene pouts.
She stands up and walks to me. “Then stay here. I won’t be able to sleep without you baby.” She says and I melt at her calling me baby in that voice. I smile and nod. We kiss and it grows more passionate. “Hmm.”
“I’m all for y’all getting back together because what, cute. But I’m right here. So if y’all are going to do that, take it to the room.” Zarina says and we laugh.
I peck her lips. “I’ll stay but I need clothes baby. I’ll be back.” She nods and then kisses me again. I leave and head to my apartment.
I open the door and hear moans and grunts. “I’m gonna throw up.”
“Fuck Jason fuck you’re doing so good!” Jade moans.
“Shit I’m gonna c-
I gag heading to the living room with my eyes covered. “Please for the love of god, finish in your room not on the couch!” I hear them frantically move around.
“Shit Jordyn! I thought you were still upstate.” Jason says.
“Well I’m back and getting clothes to spend the night over Selenes.” I say and go towards my room still covering my eyes. I get in my room and pack a bag.
“Aww you guys made up?” Jade asks and I turn to look at her and she’s standing in the doorframe naked.
I turn back quickly hearing her giggle. “Jesus Jade. Cover yourself please.” I groan.
“Nothing you haven’t seen before Jordyn. But I’m covered.” She says and I peak and her and Jace are in robes.
“But yes we made up. And she wants me to stay over, so you guys are free to have the crib to yourselves but do not fuck on my couch!” I say pointing to Jason and he nods embarrassed. I shake my head and leave to go back to Selenes. When I reach her apartment, i feel weird. Like someone or something is watching me. I look around and don’t see anything so I shake it off and head up to her place.
Zarina opens the door and tells me she went to bed. I nod and head to her room where I see her laid out. I chuckle and strip out of my clothes to lay next to her. I get in the bed and wrap my arms around and she relaxes in my arms. “Hey baby.” She whispers.
I kiss her shoulder. “Hey baby. Go back to sleep. I’m here.” She hums and I allow her breaths to soothe me and I let darkness and sleep take over.
