Selenes POV
“What the fuck do I do?!” I yell at my dad. Him and my mom flew all the way here from upstate when Zarina told them what’s going on. They heard the entire conversation I had with Michael and I feel sick to my stomach.
“Nothing! I’ll get all my old police buddies on it sweetie! He will only hurt you and Jordyn!” He says and I shake my head.
“He’s already hurting her. Didn’t you hear her?! She didn’t even sound like herself. I don’t care what happens to me but all this is happening because of me. I have to fix it.”
“Honey no! Let your father handle it.” My mom say. I look over to my friends. Jason and Morgan are pacing back and forth, yes Morgan. She’s still Jordyn’s friend despite whatever is going on. And Zarina is staring at the wall like she wants it to break from her stare.
Ding! “He sent the address.” Zarina takes my phone and her brows furrow at it and then gives it to my dad.
“Where is this?” He asks looking at Zarina who looks like she may know.
“Unfortunately it’s where I grew up. It’s hood as fuck. I don’t know how the fuck he found out about it but that’s an abandoned warehouse building. It flooded during a bad hurricane and been abandoned since.” She says standing up and pacing around.
“Dad what are we going to do?” I ask him again.
He sighs. “I’m calling my buddies like I said but if you want to do it your way then we will. But you will have protection.” He hands me a gun and I stare at it. “Take it Selene. It’s not an option.” I nod and take is hesitantly.
“Whats the actual fucking plan here? Because just sending her there alone isn’t one.” Jason says.
My dad looks at him. “Well, Selene is going to go there alone. Atleast that’s what he’s going to think. I’ll get a team of my guys down in Houston, to head there. Does it have windows?” He asks Zarina.
She shakes her head. “None that aren’t boarded up. It’s supposed to be vacant.” She says.
He nods. “We’ll handle it sweetie. You just need to hold him off and gives us a signal to know it’s time to go in.” I nod. “We need to leave now so he doesn’t get suspicious. Let’s go.”
Morgan tries to come. “Not you.” I say and she looks at me irritated.
“Excuse me? She’s my bestfriend I’m not letting you guys do this alone!” She says and I sigh.
“Exactly and you’re pregnant.” She looks down at her stomach that’s showing. “She would be heartbroken if something happened to you or that child despite the circumstances on how it happened.” Tears fall down her face.
“Just please,” she grabs my hand. “Just bring her back. Ok?” I nod and then we leave and Zarina and my mom stay with her.
“I’m going to kill him.” Jason grits through his teeth as his legs bounces up and down in his truck as he drives to the address. “Damn this looks like some Gotham shit man.” He says when we pull up.
I sigh. And put the gun behind me. “Shoot when you’re ready baby. My team is already on standby.” I frown and look around but don’t see anyone. “Oh trust me they’re there. It’s good you can’t see them. Now go. After 10 minutes we’re busting in. No exceptions.” I nod and Jason and I switch seats so it looks like I drove incase he’s watching somehow.
I get out and look up at the building. He sent a message saying to come all the way up. I walk in past the police tape and immediately can tell the building is molded by the smell. I climb the steps cautiously to not fall through or get ambushed. I make it all the way up and hear grunts and panting coming from the managers office that looks out to the main floor. I open the door and gasp at the sight. Jordyn is hanging by her wrist and face is battered and bruised. “Jordyn! Baby.” I run to her and grab her face in my hands. She’s not responding telling me she’s unconscious but she breathing, barely. She’s down in a white tank that’s covered in her blood, black sweatpants and her shoes are gone. “Baby answer me please.” I beg but she doesn’t respond.
“Aww now this just sad.” I turn to Michael standing by a table where I see a hammer, brass knuckles and his gun. “Hey gorgeous.”
“Michael. Let her go. I’m here, now please.” I beg shielding her body with my own.
He laughs and it’s not like anything I’ve ever heard. It’s cynical. “Now why would I do that?” He picks up his gun and I put my hands up. “Remove the gun from you m, slowly.” He says and I swallow. I nod and slowly reach for the gun, he cocks his and I freeze.
“You told me to get it!”
“Just don’t try anything!” He yells shaky and I nod and take the gun out and slide it to him. He smiles and puts the gun up. “Now come here baby.” I shake my head and his smile fades and he walks to me and grabs my face aggressively. “I wasn’t asking bitch!” He grits and then pushes me away from Jordyn. He goes to his table and grabs a bottle. He pours the water on Jordyn and she springs up.
“Shit fuck! F-fuck y-you!” She grits out shivering and he laughs.
“Wake up. We have guests.” He says and her face turns to me and her face softens.
“Selene?” I nod trying not to sob seeing how she can barely open her eyes to look at me. “No! Fuck you!” She yells at Michael and he just smiles at her.
“Why? I brought you your girl. I wanted to make sure she was the last face you saw when you died Jordyn. You should be thanking me.” He says and then walks to me and pulls me in front of her. “Say hi bitch!” He yells at me.
“Jordyn.” I scan her body and I can tell she’s crying. “Don’t cry baby. It’s going to be ok.” I tell her and she shakes her head and looks down. “Baby look at me.” She looks up. “I love you.”
“Ti amerò per sempre.” She chokes out looking me in my eyes.
“Oh now that’s touching. Too bad it won’t matter.” He lets me go and I hug Jordyn’s body hearing her hiss and groan in pain. He grabs his gun and then aims it to Jordyn and I. “Move.” He says and I shake my head. “Bitch move!”
Bang! The sound of the door being busted into throws his eyes off and shots go off and immediately he’s laid on the ground with several bullet holes in him. “That’s was longer than 10 minutes!” I yell.
“We needed to get in without him noticing he was facing the door.” My says and I roll my eyes but smile grateful.
“Shit Jordyn!” Jason yells helping her down from the hook holding her up. Her body immediately drops in his arms. “Fuck! We have to get her to the hospital!” He exclaims when we see blood coming out of from her stomach.
We all look and see Michael laughing with blood pouring out his mouth. My blood boils and I pick up my gun. “Selene don’t!” My dad yells but I ignore him and shoot the asshole in the head and he goes limp. My dad runs to me as my body goes weak. “I’m here sweetie. But we have to go. She needs a doctor and fast!” I don’t respond as I stare at the lifeless body of the man who has ruined my entire life. My dad sighs and picks me up and then we leave the building and Jason carries Jordyn. We get in the truck with my dad driving, me in the passenger and Jordyn in the back applying pressure to Jordyn’s gun shot wound.
“Fucking hurry up! She’s bleeding out back here!” My dad takes sharp and fast turns and we finally pull up and Zarina is already outside with a gurney and other doctors and nurse in her causal clothes. “She’s losing too much!I-I tried to keep her from bleeding.” Jason cries out as we take her out and put her in the gurney.
“We’ve got it Jason, let her go!” His hand still has hold of Jordyn’s hand. “Jason you’ve gotta let go.” Zarina says in his face and he slowly lets go. And they push her in immediately going into the ER.
“FUCK!” He yells and punches the pillar. He drops to his knees and sobs uncontrollably. I want to hold him but I’m frozen still staring at the door her lifeless body just went through. My dad goes to Jason and hold him. “GOD!” His cries break me and I feel my own tears continue to pour but I dont have the energy to wipe them.
I feel arms wrap around me. “She’s going to be fine sweetheart. We’ve gotta be strong for her.” My mom says holding me.
I break and I fall into her arms. “It’s my fault! She’s dying because of me! I-I”
“Sssshhh baby. It’s not your fault. It’s Michael’s. But he’s gone now baby. He’s gone! He can’t hurt you or Jordyn anymore. He does not get to win! Do not give up on her! She needs you to be strong for her! Strong like I know you can be.” She says and I just cry in her arms.
“She can’t leave mom! She can’t leave me!”
