Jordyn’s POV
The Same Night
I make it back to my apartment after going to get more pre workout drinks for my roommate, Jason, and I. “Yo Jordyn!” He says coming out of his room with his gaming headset off one ear, his shirt off showing his muscular build, and black sweatpants. Jason is a tall 6’2 Asian (crazy I know) but he’s also black he gets it from his dad. He’s also my best friend since middle school. And when we graduated he hit a job as a bartender and now he’s the owner of the club since the original passed and handed it down to him since he had no other family. He own the most popular and busiest club in the city, Club of Angels, no it’s not a strip club. Anyway I moved in with him after I got done with school.
“What’s up Jase.” I say putting up the groceries in the kitchen and getting a water out the fridge.
“How was work?” He asks leaning on the door way of the kitchen as I lean on the counter.
I shrug. “Pretty good. The juniors were annoying as always. They’re just so excited to be seniors they become obnoxious but once they hit senior year I know they’ll mellow out.” I say.
He eyes my suspiciously. “And what if Ms. Kaci?” He ask and I roll my eyes regretting even telling him she was back.
I sigh. And walk past him to go to the living room. “She’s fine. Morgan came by though and she saw.”
He shrugs. “So what if she sees Morgan?” He asks confused. I eye him bored. His eyes widen and then frown. “I thought you told me you guys broke up?” He asks and groans when I just shrug. “Seriously, Jordyn? She cheated on you! I don’t even know why you still hang with her.” He says.
“Look I know. But she’s my first love Jason. It’s hard to just let her go. She’s my first everything you don’t just let that go.” I say.
“She did. The moment she slept with that girl Courtney. She wasn’t thinking about you therefore you shouldn’t think about her.” He says as a matter of fact.
I roll my eyes. “We kissed.” I say ashamed feeling like I’m being scolded by my dad and somehow I feel even more embarrassed by Jason.
“You what?! You idiot.” He says smacking me in the back of the head.
“Hey I’m still a girl, asshole!” I yell.
“No right now you’re a dumbass ruining your chances with the hottest woman we’ve ever known by continuing to fuck with your ex girlfriend.” He retorts flicking my forhead.
I rub my forehead and frown at him. “Fuck man. Fine I’ll end it with Morgan. We’re still friends though Jace. That’s not just going to end you know that.”
He rolls his eyes. “Yes I’m aware we’ve all been best friends since middle school Jordyn. But doesn’t make what she did ok.” He says and puts his headset back on walking back into his room while yelling. “Shut the fuck up fool! No she’s not available asshole!”
I sigh and head to my room. I shower and wash my hair. I get out and look myself in the mirror seeing the full sleeve of tattoos and my spider tattoo on my hip. My wet short curly hair cascade my face and dry it with a towel. I was blessed with my moms light skin tone and my dads Italian silky hair so it doesn’t take much to style my hair. It used to be long but I always hated it so I cut it in a curtains haircut like the 90s white boys but my curls define it more.
I leave the bathroom after putting on a sports bra and boxer briefs and get in the bed. I lay down with my hands behind my head and look up at the ceiling thanking myself for soundproofing my room because Jason can stay up all night gaming and yelling. I was on a stream with him before and he was up until it was time to go to work. He wasn’t even tired. I don’t know how he does it. I close my eyes and drift to sleep looking forward to seeing the woman who has been a constant since junior year of high school.
