From what Yaozu learnt from Momo Wan,Royal consort Hui is the most prestigious,being a princess from Yun Kingdom and the least prestigious is Beauty Yan,who comes from a merchant family.
From the looks of it,Yaozu is the second most prestigious concubine,not only because of his background but because of his rank as well.
The rules and etiquette didn’t seemed that bad either but of course,the male consorts were inferior than the female ones,according to the etiquette.
However,it’s not mentioned that there can’t be a male empress.

Consort Xiao sat elegantly on a chair while drinking fresh tea, analyzing the maids that brought some grass jelly for him, then addressed his dowry maid after the two strangers left the room.
“What do you think about the royal women of the harem?”
Yaozu looked at Meihui curiously, only to meet dark brown eyes filled with worry.
“I can’t say for sure.We will have to see.”,Yaozu said.
“I think Beauty Yan is not to be trusted.I saw her a few times but didn’t seemed pleasing even when she was smiling.”,Meihui said with a frown.
“She seems a dangerous one,then.”,Yaozu answered.
“Speaking of which,have Your highness heard that his majesty will hold a concubine selection?”,Meihui asked with an irritated expression.
“Concubine Selection?”,Yaozu frowned,this was quite insulting.He only just became a consort and now the emperor held a selection out of nowhere?
“Not only that,but even the lower classes are allowed.”,Meihui said with a slight pout.
Lower classes concubines have always been more ambitious and had strong will power.He hopes he will not have problems with those concubines.
“Well,if this is what his majesty wishes for.”,Yaozu said gently.
He is aware his palace is filled with spies.He needs to be careful with his words at all times.

A nobleman dressed in golden attire questioned, taken aback by the conversions between the master and handmaid of eternal harmony palace.

The emperor rose from his seat and walked out of his study room leaving the servant behind.
