Self harm can be a sensitive topic for many. And it’s not covered very well in the media. I want to help you guys, so here are some coping mechanisms you can use. You can find more on yourlifeyourvoice.com under “99 coping skills”
Pinching ice cubes.
This can give you that numbing feeling, without injuring yourself.
Putting bandaids where you want to cut.
I do this, and I put new ones on my wrist after I shower. I decorate them with a purple marker.
Don’t keep sharp objects in your room or bathroom.
