Rustling was heard in the closet as Yerim appeared with a pair of converse in her hand. She was finishing getting ready for her date with Yeojin.

The two freshman were going to head to the arcade then get something to eat. Yerim was exceptionaly happy to be going out with Yeojin.

She sat on her bed and put on her shoes. Then she heads to the living room to wait for the youngest. As usual, she was home alone since her parents were working all day.

Yerim was wearing a bright orange shirt that was tucked into her jean shorts. It was almost summer time which also means that school is almost over.

As Yerim was waiting, Yeojin had finished putting on her shoes. She wore a purple flannel and white shorts with converse as well.

She was a little nervous but knew that Yerim would calm her down. Yeojin was whipped for her and she knows it.

The youngest makes sures she has everything then exits the house. The walk to Yerim’s house wasn’t that long, about ten minutes.

On the way there, Yeojin kept trying to calm her nerves. She thought it was dumb for her to be nervous since she’s used to hanging out with Yerim.

But this is their first date since confessing to each other their true feelings. She tried to think of ways to not embarrass herself in front of Yerim even though the older would just find her cute.

Yeojin notices how she arrived to her house quick. She walks up to the door and gives two strong knocks.

Yerim was playing on her phone while waiting when she heard knocking. She gets up knowing its the youngest and opens the door.

“Hi Yeojinie!” She answers with excitement and wide eyes.

“Hey Yerimie! Are you ready to go?” She asks the older.

Yerim nods and walks out of the house and closes the door. Before they can walk off, Yerim pulls Yeojin into a hug.

The younger was a little stunned but reciprocates the hug. Pulling away, Yerim had a bright smile on her face.

“Let’s go!” She grabs hold of the younger’s hand and drags her to the sidewalk. Yeojin let herself be pulled by the older as she wore a smile.

The two freshmen talked as they headed to the arcade. Yerim was talking more as Yeojin paid attention to her speaking.

Yeojin is what you call a simp for Yerim by Hyejoo. She remembers when she told the older about her crush on Yerim and Hyejoo just called her simp.

It was a nice day to go out as the wind danced through their hair. The sun shines bright on them but it wasn’t that hot.

“Did you know that Joo Joo was going on a date with Chaewon unnie, Yeo?” Yerim asks as they walk.

Yeojin looks up at her “Yea she told me right after asking her out” She answers.

Yerim hums and nods. She kept quiet and continues walking. Yeojin was confused by her reaction but doesn’t say anything.

The sign of the arcade comes into their vision as they arrive. It was a small arcade that has been there for a while already. A lot of kids will come by and play every day.

Yeojin holds open the door for Yerim to enter. She thanks her with a smile and walks in.

As they enter, the sounds of video games and people talking are heard. Students their age were running around playing the different games on display.

“What do you wanna do first?” Yeojin asks Yerim as she stares at her. She was mesmerized by her beautiful visuals.

Yerim looked around and thought about what to do. She wanted to play those car games so they can race.

“Let’s go play the fast and the furious so we can race against each other” She tells the younger.

Yeojin just kept staring at the older. When she doesn’t answer, Yerim looks back at her.

“What? Is there something on my face?” She asks and touches her face.

“Yea, beauty” Yeojin answers while still in a daze. Yerim starts blushing and lowers her head a little.

Yeojin finally gets out of her daze and heard what she said. She starts blushing and tried to correct herself.

“U-uh I mean t-that you’re really p-pretty” She lightly chuckles and rubs the back of her neck.

Yerim smiles at how cute the younger is as she stutters. Her heart quickens at hearing Yeojin call her beautiful.

“Thanks Yeo. Should we go and play now?” She asks and Yeojin nods.

They walk around the kids playing to head towards the car games. They weren’t being used so the two quickly sat down.

The game they sat down at were those games where you can control the car like how you would drive an actual car.

Yeojin rummeged through her pockets and pulls out some quarters. She hands two to Yerim for her to insert into the machine.

They choose whichever car they want where to race. The two would play Mario kart with Hyejoo and Chaewon so they knew how to play.

“Best two out of three?” Yerim says as the race was about to begin.

“Oh you’re on!” Yeojin yells and turns back to look at the screen. The lights flick red on the screen till it turns green.

Yeojin quickly presses the fake pedal as she drives off. Yerim was right behind her as she begins driving.

They were either yelling at each other or laughing. It looked like a stressful race but Yerim was in the lead.

“Yerimie do not pass me! I really really swear to god!”

“HA! I win!”

Yerim yells at the younger as she crosses the finish line before her. Yeojin just stares at the screen and screams.

“How the fuck did you beat me?! I was literally in first place!” She questions and stares widely at Yerim.

The older laughs at her reaction. It was really funny whenever the younger would lose and get mad.

“You still have a chance but I doubt you’ll be able to beat me Yeo” Yerim smirks at the younger.

Yeojin turns and narrows her eyes at the older “Ight bet let’s go again!” She digs into her pocket again to pull out quarters.

After they insert the coins and pick their cars, the race begin. This time Yerim stayed in the lead as Yeojin was tailing her.

But luck wasn’t on Yeojin’s side as she loses again. She made it in third place and Yerim got first.

“I win again! I told you couldn’t beat me!” She yells and points at the younger.

Yeojin tries to defend herself “B-but how did I make it in THIRD?!” Yerim just laughs harder as Yeojin slowly slips out of the seat and onto the ground.

Yerim always wondered how Yeojin can easily make her laugh. The younger barley even tried to funny yet the older would be laughing it up.

The older finally calmed down from laughing too much. Yeojin got up from the ground and smiled warmly at her.

“What should we play next? Street Fighter or Air Hockey?” The younger asks her.

Yerim thinks it over before answering “Air Hockey” And pulls her to the game located a few feet away.

The air hockey table glowed in the dark a little as the colors green and purple shined. Yeojin inserts some coins as the machine gives out the puck.

Yerim grabs it and places it on the table. They both grab the paddles as the older strikes first.

The two freshmen continue playing and having fun at the arcade. They played many different games as Yeojin pretty much lost all the time.

Either she wasn’t good or she just let Yerim win every time. We’ll never know.

Sometimes when Yerim would play a game by herself, Yeojin would smile and stare at her. She loved that the older was enjoying herself.

The youngest knew she was a big simp for the older but she didn’t care. There were some kids who tried to hit on Yerim and Yeojin scared them away.

Even if she was half their size, no one tries to hit on her sunshine. Yerim would thank her for that and maybe gave her a small kiss on the cheek.

Which left Yeojin a blushing mess at the Pac Man machine. The older was also blushing but the younger didn’t need to know that.

They were currently walking towards the pool table. Yeojin wanted to show off her pool skills since Hyejoo taught her how to play.

“Do you even know how to play Yeojinie?” Yerim asks as the younger grabs a cue stick from the wall for the both of them.

“Yea, Hyejoo showed me how to a while ago. If you don’t know then we can play something else” She doesn’t want to force Yerim to play something she doesn’t know how to.

Yerim shakes her head “No its fine. I wanna play but you may have to teach me” She tells her shyly.

The older felt her cheeks redden a little. This was really the only game she didn’t know how to play and felt a little embarrassed.

“I can show you its fine for me. Here let me set it up first” Answers the younger.

Yeojin puts together the pool balls into the triangle shaped rack. The balls were different colors and had numbers on them.

They were also either striped or solid. She made sure they were neatly set and took off the rack. She placed a white ball behind the yellow 1 ball.

Yerim was watching her set it up with wide eyes. She didn’t want to say it out loud but the younger looked attractive putting together the game.

“Okay so first, you need to know which ball you have to hit to put into the pockets. You’re the striped while I’m the solid” Yeojin explains carefully.

Yerim nods and the younger continues “To be able to hit your ball, you need to hit this white ball so it hits against the ball you want to hit. And it will go inside the pocket”

Yeojin tries to word her explanation simple for Yerim to understand. If Hyejoo was here with them, she would be better at explaining the game.

“Okay I think I got it. Should we start now?” Yerim says and Yeojin nods.

The younger settles her cue stick in between her two fingers. She carefully aims it at the white ball and closes her left eye. Yeojin then pulls back the cue a little and pushes it forward.

The cue hits the white ball as the ball hits against the others. The noise wasn’t as loud but Yerim flinched a little. The other balls scattered around the table as only one solid made it into the pocket.

Yerim widens her eyes and claps. She smiles brightly at how Yeojin fist bumps the air seeing she made a point.

“Wow! That was cool Yeo! My turn now!”

The older moves over to where the white ball is at and sets up to hit. Her stance looked a little bit off but the younger doesn’t say anything.

Yerim pulls back the cue and does the same thing Yeojin did. But the cue misses hitting the ball and goes the other way.

The older pouts and looks towards the younger who was trying to hold in her laugh.

“Yah!” She pushes her lightly and the younger busts out laughing. It was funny the way the cue missed the ball and Yerim’s reaction.

Yerim just chuckles with a small blush on her cheeks. Yeojin stops laughing and looks at the older.

“Your aim was fine but you have to hit the ball. Here, go into the position you were in and I’ll help you” She tells the older.

Yerim goes back to the position and watches as Yeojin makes her way to where she was at.

The older slightly flinches feeling a hand on her waist. She then feels the younger’s small body touch hers from behind. Yeojin puts her hand the cue stick to fix the position.

“You need to move it a little to the right since you want to hit the striped ones not the solid ones” She lowly says.

Yerim can feel her breath hit the back of her neck and shivers a little. Yeojin helps her make sure her arms are properly placed in the correct position.

The younger is basically back-hugging her right now. The older was blushing and feels her heart wanting to explode by how close Yeojin was.

Yeojin knew of how their position looked like for others as she herself was also blushing hard. She could hear her heart beat out of her chest in her ears.

Yerim still listened to the younger as she helped her pull back the cue and then push it forward. The cue hit the white ball that then hit the striped ones.

Two of the striped balls made it into a pocket. The older watched as it happened and was happy to see her score two points.

Yeojin quickly let’s go of her and smiles seeing she made two points. Yerim stands up and looks at her.

“Nice one Yerimie! Now just remember to aim more down to hit it better” She tells her and gives her a hi five.

Yerim nods “Okay I will” She missed the warmth of Yeojin’s body against hers as they begin to play billiards.

They were having so much fun at the arcade. It was a date but it naturally just felt like a regular hang out. Yeojin had beat Yerim in pool and was ecstatic since she hasn’t won yet.

Yerim felt hungry as they just finished playing a game where you have to throw red balls to knock down all the clowns.

They were doing great since their aim was perfect due to playing baseball. Yeojin had a little better aim than Yerim because she plays infield.

“Hey Yeo, I’m feeling kind of hungry. Do you wanna go get something to eat?”

The younger nods “Sure thats fine. There’s a pizzeria across the street, you wanna eat there?” She tells the older.

“Sure let’s go!” Yerim says and drags the younger out of the arcade. They look both ways before crossing the street.

Yeojin holds open the door for Yerim as they enter the pizzeria. It was a nice small pizzeria that looked like it was from Brooklyn.

Making their way towards the front, a old man walks out from the kitchen hearing the door. He had on a white with a white apron that was dirty.

He also had this warm smile on his face that made him look like a grandfather. He greets the two freshmen as they walk up to him.

“Hello and welcome to Brooklyn Pizzeria! How may I help you today?” He asks the two students.

They smile and greet him as well before looking up at the menu. They decide to order their own slices since their tastes weren’t the same.

Yerim orders two slices of a three meat pizza and Yeojin orders two slices of a Hawaiian pizza.

The man smiles and yells into the small kitchen window their orders. They hear someone yell back as they cooked the pizza.

Yeojin pays for the both of them before Yerim can offer. She’s the one who asked out the older so that means she pays.

The two grab their drinks from the man and walk away to find a table. They sat at a table by the window to look outside.

“You know today has been really fun Yeojinie! Thank you for taking me out” Yerim tells the younger as her cheeks redden a little.

The younger smiles and feels her heart skip a beat “Of course Yerimie, you deserve to have fun. I’ve been having fun as well with you and I’ll take you out on some more fun dates!” She says with a firm look.

Yerim smiles finding the younger adorable. They chat for a few before the man brings them their food.

The two begin eating peacefully as the sun slowly sets in the back. The sky became a nice shade of orange and yellow giving a nice aesthetic.

They finished eating and waited a little before leaving. Bidding goodbye to the old man, Yeojin held open the door for Yerim as they left.

The walk back to Yerim’s house was nice and quiet. It wasn’t as hot as it was earlier since it was dark already. Yerim had her arm looped around Yeojin’s arm.

“Next time we should bring Hyejoo and Chaewon unnie to play billiards with us. We can be on teams!” Yerim says with enthusiasm.

“Sure and we can finally beat Hyejoo! She is too good at everything she does” Yeojin says with a scowl but let’s out a chuckle.

The turn a corner and a variety of houses come into their view. They approach Yerim’s house and walk up to the front door.

“Thanks for today Yeojinie, I had so much fun” Yerim shyly smiles at the younger.

Yeojin gives her an eye smile “I had fun today as well. I’ll make sure to take you out more so you can enjoy yourself” She tells the older sincerely.

Yerim feels herself blush as Yeojin looks at her with those sparkling eyes of her. She has loved the way Yeojin would pay attention to someone when they’re speaking.

The younger steps forward and pulls the older into a hug. Yerim wraps her arms around her shoulders as Yeojin has hers on her torso.

They always hug each other so it didn’t feel any different. Letting go, Yerim smiles widely at how Yeojin is perfect height for their hugs.

“You don’t want to spend the night? I mean its already dark and I don’t want nothing to happen to you” Yerim asks the younger with concern.

It was dark but there were street lamps that were bright as hell. And the younger didn’t live that far away.

“Its fine Yerimie. I’ll be home quick, I promise” She tells the older and it calms her down.

Yerim nods and leans in to quickly give Yeojin a peck on the lips. Pulling back, she sees the younger in shock and smiles.

“Goodnight Yeojinie and please get home safely. Text me when you get home” She says and unlocks the door.

Yeojin was still in a daze as the imprint of Yerim’s lips were felt on her lips. She looks up at the older with red cheeks and gives her a dorky smile.

“Of course I’ll be careful. And I promise to text you when I arrive home. Goodnight Yerimie”

She tells the older and walks backwards as Yerim enters her house. The older sends her a flying kiss and she catches it. Yerim closes the door and Yeojin turns around to walk home.

Her heart felt complete knowing that Yerim returned her feelings. Both of them wonder how their feelings will grow for each other.

TW: Violence & Blood

As Yeojin walked home, she didn’t notice someone following her. Her house was only five minutes away and she was fast walking so she’ll make it quick.

The person made sure not to get caught as they got closer. Yeojin was still thinking about the kiss Yerim gave her.

The younger turns around a corner when a arm pulls her into an alleyway. She’s shocked and stumbles a little as she’s pulled.

“What the fuck?!” She yells and looks up to see who pulled her. Her heart stops as she makes eye contact with the person everyone hates the most.

She gulps feeling scared of the way he looked at her. The younger knew something bad was going to happen and tried to find a way to escape.

“Hello Yeojin. I see that you went on a little date with Yerim. I’m surprised she even likes you back because…well look at you. No one would go for you trust me” He laughs at her.

Yeojin frowns and looks down. Her confidence came crashing down on her as he said that. The younger would always put herself down for others but hearing it from him stings different.

He looks at her and darkly chuckles “I’m sorry, did I hurt your feelings? Listen here kid, I didn’t get to finish what you started in the gym. Remember when you couldn’t keep your mouth shut?! Well guess what, Hyunjin can’t save you this time!” He yells at her and pushes her against the wall.

“Ahh!” She cries out in pain. She looks into his eyes and fears for what he will do. Jinhyuk is unpredictable and she’s afraid he might accidentally kill her.

He pins her against the wall and gives her a creepy smile. Yeojin wanted to yell out for help but she’s scared he’ll hurt her even worse. She’s scolding herself for not staying over at Yerim’s house.

“Tell me Yeojin…” He roughly grabs her chin and pulls her closer “Do you bleed?” He whispers harshly and looks into her shaking eyes.

Smirking, Jinhyuk let’s go of her chin and punches her in the gut. She groans as he keeps punching her there.

At the last punch, Yeojin manages to spit out some blood. She was going to fall onto the ground but Jinhyuk holds her up.

“You’re lucky that my buddies aren’t here to help me. I’m not letting you off this easy” He makes sure she stands up before swinging his fist against her face.

The younger’s head snaps to the right and feels her cheek stinging. She turns back to look at him and he punches her again.

“P-please stop!” She yells at him and tries to cover her face with her arms but he forcefully grabs her arms to move them away.

He gives a final punch to her face and let’s go of her. Stepping back, Jinhyuk watches Yeojin touch her face and feels her lip bleeding. Her face was all bloody and full of bruises.

“I’m sorry that I said shit but you don’t have to do this! Please just let me go!” She pleads. She just wants to go home and sleep.

Jinhyuk tilts his head at her and looks around. He finds a metal pipe on the ground next to a dumpster and grabs it.

Yeojin was shaking in fear seeing him grab the pipe. She knows what’s about to happen since she’s seen it happen to Jinsoul.

“I’m not letting you go just yet. I’m gonna have some fun with you” He smirks and slowly walks up to her.

She’s too afraid to run away as her legs were shaking. Yeojin hopes that Yerim doesn’t get mad at her when she finds out what happened.

“This may hurt a lot so brace yourself” Jinhyuk tells her and he swings the pipe towards her stomach.

“Ahh!” She yells out and hunches over in pain. He pushes her back and hits her again in the same place.

Jinhyuk grabs her by the shirt and throws her onto the ground. Yeojin breaks her fall by rolling onto her back instead.

“N-no! Please! Don’t hurt me!” Her yells were cut off as Jinhyuk raises the pipe above his head before striking her on the ribs.

“AHHH!” She cries out hearing a crack. Yeojin looked up at him seeing that he getting ready to slam the pipe onto her body again.

Jinhyuk continuously struck her with the metal pipe. He also kicked her a few times and smirks seeing her spit out blood.

It was bad, Yeojin couldn’t even feel him beating her anymore. She knows one or two of her ribs are broken.

He stops beating her and breaths heavily. Yeojin laid on the dirty ground of the alley with blood and bruises all over her body.

Jinhyuk let’s her catch her breath before he’s done with her. He yanks her up by the collar of her shirt so she can stand up.

Yeojin stood up forcefully and wobbles a little. Her head and body hurts as she winces in pain.

Looking at him, the younger notices he’s not done with her yet. She tries to prepare herself for whatever he’s going to do but the pain is too much for her to ignore.

“I’ll let you go….right after I hurt you one last time” He says and quickly raises the pipe again.

Yeojin, having no time to react, just looks at him with furrowed brows. The pipe makes contact with her head as her neck snaps to the right.

She gets knocked down to the ground from the final blow Jinhyuk gave her. Yeojin lands on her side harshly and winces in pain.

Blood gushes out of her head wound. It lands on the concrete as Yeojin reaches up to touch her head. She sees the red liquid on her hand and grimaces.

“Thats for talking back at me. Now I think you should understand to never mess with me again right?” He waits for an answer but never gets one.

“RIGHT?!” He flips her onto her back pulls on the collar of her shirt.

“Y-yes” Yeojin says quietly because if she speaks louder, her ribs would hurt.

Jinhyuk smirks in satisfaction seeing the younger all beat up. He let’s go of her and stands up to leave.

Dusting off his clothes, Jinhyuk looks down at Yeojin and watches her in wince in pain.

“Well, its been fun but I’ve got to go now. Remember what I told you or else you’ll get a worse beating than this” He tells her and looks into her fearful eyes.

She just watches him turn away and walk off. The pain from her head clouds her mind and she tries to sit up.

“Ah! I should’ve just stayed over with Yerim” She whispers to herself.

Sitting up, Yeojin looks around to see if anyone was there. Seeing that no one was around, she slowly and painfully stands up.

Her arm was wrapped around her rib area and the other arm was holding her head. She had to lean against the wall as to not pass out since she felt really dizzy.

Yeojin wanted to go home but her parents would be worried seeing her all beat up. She didn’t want to cause problems for them if they decide to go to the police.

Her phone vibrates in her pocket and let’s go of her head to pull it out. She squints her eyes at the brightness and sees a text from Yerim.

She feels her heart break seeing Yerim ask if she got home safely. Not having the guts to tell her what happened, she sends her a quick text saying she got home.

Yerim texts back quickly saying goodnight and Yeojin sends one back. She shoves her phone back into her pocket and feels tears pooling in her eyes.

—————————————————————

She needs to go home because if she goes to the hospital then they’ll call her parents. So with whatever strength she had left, she pushes herself off the wall to walk home.

Yeojin groans when she takes a step but pushes it away as she continues walking. Her head was throbbing as blood still fell out of the wound.

Her vision was getting blurry but she pushed herself to make it home. If anybody saw her, they would’ve called her crazy for not going to the hospital.

“Come on, you can do it. Don’t pass out, don’t pass out” She tells herself to stay awake.

Yeojin was walking with a limp because she couldn’t walk normally due to her ribs. She knows they’re broken but she doesn’t want to go to the hospital.

Everything was spinning as she couldn’t walk in a straight line. She stops to get her vision back as it blurs.

The dark sky was lit up by the moon as it watches Yeojin struggle to get home. Owls are heard hooting around with the wind dancing on trees.

Yeojin sees her house come into view. She quickens her pace ignoring the pain on her torso.

Looking around, Yeojin decides to climb through her window in case her dad was watching a movie. She holds onto the side of the house and stands in front of her window.

Her window was always left slightly ajar because sometimes she would sneak out to meet Hyejoo and they would walk around town.

Yeojin takes a deep breath and braces herself for the pain thats coming. She raises her arms to open it before pulling herself up.

“Fucking shit it hurts!” She whispers-yells into her dark room.

“Woah!” Yeojin yells as she falls onto the floor. Groaning in pain, she stands up quickly in case her parents heard her.

She rushes to grab her pajamas and quietly opens the door. Making sure no one was awake, she tiptoes to the bathroom slightly wincing.

Yeojin quickly but slowly takes off her dirty and bloody clothes. She looks at herself in the mirror and grimaces.

“How the fuck am I going to explain this to everyone?” Sighing, she looks for the first aid kit.

She finds it and tries to clean her wounds. It was easy just cleaning them with alcohol wipes and putting on bandages.

But then she notices after cleaning her head wound that she needs stitches.

“Shit! Man fuck Jinhyuk!” Yeojin just wraps a bandage around her head tightly to stop the bleeding.

Even if she felt like passing out and her face became pale, she still washed up. Her ribs needed medical attention but she also wraps a big bandage around them.

Yeojin finishes up in the bathroom then makes her way back to her room. After making sure the window was closed, she painfully gets in bed.

The freshman has a hard time getting comfortable due to her wounds. She thinks back to today and smiles at the memories of her and Yerim having fun.

Her smile slowly disappeared and turned into a frown as Jinhyuk pops into her mind. She just tries to get rid of those thoughts and adjusts her position.

Yeojin slowly falls asleep while lying on her back. She wore a smile as she dreams about Yerim. No one could ever stop her from thinking about Yerim, not even Jinhyuk.
