Next Day
Today was the day of Hyunjin’s decision. Jinhyuk would see if the rematch is going to happen and everyone was ready to see what will happen.
Hyunjin was ready to face Jinhyuk and tell him its game on. She is ready to kick his ass and humiliate him again.
*TIMESKIP TO LUNCH*
The girls had decided to sit together since they are now friends. After grabbing their lunch, they were chatting amongst themselves and were unaware of the group of guys coming over.
Everyone noticed Jinhyuk approaching Hyunjin’s table and quited down. The girls noticed how quiet the cafeteria got.
“Well well, looks like you made some new friends. I didn’t there were people that liked you, I always thought gumball over here was gonna be your only friend” he and his buddies laughed but the girls didn’t find it funny.
Chaewon lowered her head and fiddled with her hands in her lap. Hyejoo noticed this and scooted closer to her and held her hand. The green haired looked up at her but Hyejoo was glaring at the guy.
Hyunjin stood up angry “leave her alone, don’t say anything about her” she glared at Jinhyuk “what do you want?”
“Did you forget about our little deal? So do you have a team or not?” he crossed his arms and smirked at her.
Hyunjin knew that Jinhyuk wanted for her to not have a team so he can win and also be right about women. But he’s in for a surprise.
She gestured towards the girls ” I would like you to meet my team and don’t get scared” she chuckled as his smirk fell and stared at the girls.
He looked around and saw how his buddies also stared at them. He scoffed “this is your team? They don’t even look like they can run a mile and this one looks like she belongs in fifth grade” he pointed at Yeojin and began laughing.
The people around them started laughing till ms. popular slammed her hands on the table and stood up. Sooyoung then walked towards Jinhyuk and glared at him.
“Don’t say that to her you understand me? She hasn’t done shit to you so don’t even look at her. You have no right to talk to any of them like that so I suggest you shut the fuck up before I introduce you to my fist” a bunch of ‘ooooohs’ were heard all around.
Hyunjin just smirked and fist bumped Sooyoung when she saw him back up and frown. His buddies gulped and backed away feeling scared of the dancer.
The girls smiled and felt proud of Sooyoung for standing up to the dickhead. It seems like she grew fond of Yeojin in the span of a day.
Yeojin frowned after he said that, which made Yerim glare at the guy and give her a side hug. She always hated her height because people would make jokes like that and it put her down a lot.
Clearing his throat, Jinhyuk decided to hurry up and finish talking to Hyunjin. “well then I guess its game on. You have a week to prepare for the game and you must have your own equipment” he could barely hold eye contact with her.
“You can have a coach if needed otherwise you’re on your own. Have fun and we can’t wait to beat you Hyunjin” he smiled quickly before he walked off with his buddies.
There were claps and yells heard after they left and the girls just went back to what they were doing. Hyunjin was not scared about the game at all but she was still a little angry about Jinhyuk messing with her friends.
*TIMESKIP TO AFTER SCHOOL*
The girls decided to head to the store together to grab some equipment for the game. They were going to buy their own stuff but Hyunjin had some things at home from when she used to play so they didn’t have to spend a lot.
Only three of them had a car so they split into groups. Hyunjin, Heejin and Vivi went with Haseul. Jiwoo, Chaewon and Hyejoo drove with Sooyoung. Jungeun, Yerim and Yeojin were with Jinsoul.
They went to a sports store close by and hopped they can find what they need here.
Hyunjin helped the girls know what to buy and made sure it wasn’t expensive.
After buying equipment, the seniors drove everyone home and were going to prepare themselves for tomorrow.
When Hyunjin got home, she went to her garage and looked for the extra equipment she had.
As she looked, the door opened and her dad came in having just came home from work. He smiled as he watched her hold up a baseball in her hands.
He approached her ” So what made you want to come and look for a baseball?” She was startled and then gave her dad a hug.
“Well me and my friends are gonna play against a group of guys at our school in a game of baseball” he just tilted his head in confusion as to why she was playing in the first place.
“Why are you playing against guys? Shouldn’t you play against girls? I’m confused please elaborate” he gestured for her to explain.
She nodded and explained the whole situation between her and Jinhyuk. Her dad looked pissed about the guy messing with his daughter and her friends.
“Well he’s stupid knowing that my daughter will beat his ass. Just don’t get in trouble for this and I hope you guys can win” he gave her a hug and was about to leave when Hyunjin asked him something.
“Wait dad, you were my coach when I was in little league and I was hoping if you could be our coach?” She was hoping he could say yes because they needed the help.
He thought about it but then quickly agreed “okay I’ll be your coach but we’ll have to practice after I come home from work” she nodded and then jumped into his arms as a thank you.
He ruffled her hair and then went inside to make dinner for his family.
She continued to look for more stuff and once she found them, she took ’em upstairs to her room.
Hyunjin proceeded to write down some ideas on how to easily teach the girls tomorrow. She knew it was gonna be hard considering they didn’t how to play at all.
She felt that the hardest ones to teach were Jiwoo and Heejin. They decided to become pitchers so its going to be hard to show them how throw different balls.
What she didn’t know what was the rest of the girls were hoping to make it easier for Hyunjin by watching some videos. They looked for videos about how to play so they can have some knowledge about their position.
As the day comes to a close, the girls all hoped that they can come together and play well to win. As they want to grow this new found friendship.
