Taming The Bad Boy By Ivy Coleman Chapter 12

Sam watched Hunter tie his shoes with that serious expression on his face.

His breath caught in his throat as his eyes sheepishly ran over Hunter’s clothed form but could easily picture the muscles lying underneath. In his dream Sam could feel how taunt his body was and wondered whether he felt like that in real life.

Hunter glanced up when he felt the burning sensation of eyes boring into his.

His eyes met those brown ones as he sat up from tying his shoe and rested his elbows on his thighs. He eyed Sam as he looked over his features to make sure Sam really didn’t have a bad dream. He saw that Sam’s skin was flushed a light pink, his breathing was off and heavy, his eyes would look away from his gaze and he kept squirming.

Whenever Sam looked away from Hunter’s eyes, his cheeks would turn even more red as his small hands grasped his pyjama bottoms and clutched them tightly, Hunter smirked slyly when he realised Sam’s problem. Hunter easily put together that the small boy had a dirty dream—of what he didn’t know, but he easily saw all the signs and couldn’t help but quietly chuckle at his innocence. He sat up as his calculated gaze eyed Sam slowly as he tilted his head before he softly rasped out “Bambi—you slept on the floor all night.”

Sam could tell by Hunter’s tone that it wasn’t so much a question but a statement. However, instead of sounding accusatory or snappy, it was soft and gentle. Sam refused to meet Hunter’s gaze, at least not until he found out why he was having such a dirty dream about another guy. He was worried that with his sharp gaze and mind that Hunter would be able to easily see through him and be disgusted by him.

Funnily enough, Sam was waiting for the disgust to wash over him every time the dream flickered through his mind, but he was only ever met with a tingling pleasure in his stomach and a strange, guilty need for more. Every time he risked a glance over at Hunter he found himself blushing yet squirming as he guiltily wished for Hunter to act out his dream. “You shouldn’t have. You’ll hurt yourself.” Hunter said softly as he tilted his head to look Sam in the eye better.

Not only did Sam think that it made Hunter look ridiculously sexy when his black locks hung down in front of his eyes when he tilted his head, but it also made him relive that strange shiver of pleasure when his eyes locked on those dark green ones. Sam blushed as he looked down, still in his kneeling position as he fiddled with his fingers and shrugged sheepishly.

“You were sick.” Sam muttered quietly as he rubbed his arm bashfully.

Hunter stayed silent as he sighed gently and stood up. Sam gulped, his small Adam’s apple bobbing lightly as he slowly looked up and peered through his caramel locks up at the giant towering over him.

Suddenly, a large, calloused palm came down and held out in front of Sam as Sam’s mouth opened slightly whilst he looked up at Hunter with wide eyes.

He slowly took the hand as his small one fit perfectly inside it as Hunter carefully pulled him up. Sam wished he had not took the hand for the minute he did he ended up being pressed into Hunter; the crown of his head only came to Hunter’s chest, but he could feel the muscles through Hunter’s clothing as well as his scent that wrapped thickly around Sam and sent him into a mental frenzy. Hunter dipped his head as his eyes flickered over Sam’s face.

“It doesn’t matter if I’m dying—I don’t want you putting yourself through any pain or discomfort for my benefit.”

Sam was awestruck as he felt his heart thud. His hand, that was not being grasped in Hunter’s much larger one, as Hunter had yet to let go, came up to hover above his heart as if he was silently begging it to be still. For a moment the two of them just stayed still, standing closely, only inches apart as they basked in each other’s scents and warmth, staring each other in the eye as they both silently fawned over one another but neither voiced aloud. A loud laugh outside the dorm room snapped the two out of it as they pulled back, their hands loosening their lock on each other as they turned their heads in opposite directions and closed off the awe that almost portrayed upon their faces.

Sam stuttered for a moment before he coughed awkwardly and pointed to the door. “I-I’ll go get us some… some… FOOD! YES! F-f-food!”

Before Hunter could even blink Sam was already rushing out quickly, stumbling over his own feet before he rushed out and Hunter groaned fling back on the bed as he cursed himself for almost letting his facade slip again. It was getting harder and harder for Hunter to push Sam away.

At first it was easy because only his mind craved Sam. Now, however, his heart and body craved Sam. Not only did he want Sam emotionally and mentally but now he also wanted him physically and so any small, accidental brush made it hard to just move on and keep up the act as it took everything in him to suppress the urge to pin down the small rabbit and show him how he really felt. He ran his hand through his dark locks as he took the time whilst Sam was gone to cool himself down and not react as much.

“No! I’m just saying that—hey! quit it!” Kay growled as he shoved Bear’s gigantic form that didn’t even budge so much as an inch. Charlie walked peacefully beside Bear, his height paling in comparison as he closed his eyes like a silent monk and exhaled through his nose.

“Hey—chill out guys.” Happy laughed throatily as he slung his arm over Kay’s thin neck and Bear’s back (since he could not reach his shoulders). Kay shrugged Happy’s arm off with a peeved expression before he suddenly fell still with a startled expression. Happy’s fingers were buried deep into Kay’s dark, messy locks and ruffling them. As Kay turned to glance at Happy he saw the handsome boy grin back at him like the excited puppy he always was.

Kay’s onyx eyes flickered sheepishly over Happy’s features. His skin had gotten a bit darker due to being out in the sun a lot and his short, stubble hair had grown out a bit and was now cute tuffs of chocolate brown hair. The one thing that had not changed; his big, blue eyes that sparked every time he looked at anyone.

Kay mumbled grumpily under his breath as he kicked a pebble from beneath his feet. As the group walked along, Dale suddenly threw his cigarette by Kay’s feet as he spat out the nicotine on the ground and walked sloppily towards them with a squint. “Ey look. It the boy who climbed three mountains in one day.”

Kay gritted his teeth as he looked away but said nothing as he wasn’t good with conflict and confrontation. Happy glowered towards Dale as he walked swiftly over to him and towered over him with ease.

“Hey look. It’s the boy whose about to get his ass kicked.” Happy whispered darkly. Kay’s eyes widened as he gripped Happy’s sleeve near his elbow and tugged innocently.

No one had seen Happy snap like that and so Kay was unsure of what to think but knew it couldn’t be good. Happy didn’t budge but simply glared down Dale as he kept his hands in his pockets, his collar was messy and popped open with his tie hanging loose. Dale glanced at Happy then at Bear behind and decided it wasn’t worth it so he decided to choose wisely and move on. However, just as he was turning to leave, Happy grabbed Dale’s collar and yanked him close to him, their faces inches away as Dale flinched under the hot breath of Happy and the glare burning into him.

“Maybe he did climb three mountains all in one day. Hell, maybe he climbed five. What I’m saying is that it’s none of your damn business and if you bother him again you’ll be picking your teeth up off the floor.”

Like a wounded puppy with its tail between its legs, Dale dashed off, Happy grinned and slung his arm back around Kay as he pretended he didn’t become possessed by Satan for a moment and returned back to his angelic state as he continued joking. Kay continued to walk and laugh in all the right places, but his mind was elsewhere. All he could think about was how he and Happy ended up in this school…

*Flashback*

“I’m sick of your bullshitting, Pinocchio.” The bully growled as he shoved Kay who fell back.

Kay looked up at him with big eyes shining with tears and shock. His mouth stuttered open as nothing but a small squeak fell out. The bully sneered down at him as be laughed bitterly

“What—going to say you’ll get Sylvester Stallone on me? Get real, Pinocchio, everyone knows you don’t know him.”

Kay tried to get up with a protest, but the bully shoved him back down with his foot to Kay’s shoulder. “But I do know him!”

“You just don’t learn do you, Pinocchio.” He slapped his lips together angrily as he reached down and grabbed Kay’s collar. A hand grabbed the bully’s fist just before it could make contact with Kay’s already bruised face. Kay blinked in surprise, blinked his tears away as he looked up from his position on the floor to see a tall, shaved headed boy with shockingly bright blue eyes holding the bully’s hand.

“Hẹy—Beau. What are you doing man?” The bully frowned. Happy narrowed his eyes as be let go of the bully’s hand once it was lowered. The bully scoffed in sock. “Wow—you’re defending Pinocchio? He’s a fuckin liar and you’re helpin ‘im? I thought we were alright, Beau. Guess we’re not.” The bully went to turn back to Kay after dismissing Happy but the minute he went to attack Kay, Happy jumped the bully and aimed a messy punch to his face.

The two got into a frantic quarrel as fists flew about everywhere. Kay sat numb as he watched this ‘Beau’ guy defend him even though they didn’t even know each other. It wasn’t long after before Kay was helping a limping Happy walk home in the dark night. Kay constantly kept glancing guiltily at Happy who was bruised and bloodied. He could throw a punch, but he was not a perfect fighter who could aim amazingly and was so skilled he would step out without a bruise.

“Why did you help me?” Kay whispered as he looked down at the floor, guilt ridden.

Happy smiled at him through his cut lip and bloodied teeth as he chuckled softly. It was such a warm, gentle sound that it sent Kay’s heart fluttering as he looked away with red cheeks.

“Why wouldn’t I?” He bummed with a gentle smile. Kay scratched the back of his neck as he sighed.

“You know you’re going to get into serious trouble for this don’t you… you shouldn’t have.” They stopped outside of Happy’s house as Happy shook his head, grinning like a stupid idiot. Kay couldn’t figure out why someone would smile so much when they were so badly injured. Happy stuck out his hand that was out up and bruised as Kay looked at it in shock.

“I’m Beau.”

“Kay.”

“Nice to meet ya, Kay.”
