Taming The Bad Boy By Ivy Coleman Chapter 13

A+ A-

As Sam walked the hallways to try and find a vending machine where he could get some food he found himself wandering around aimlessly as he shoved his hands deep into his pockets and thought about how he had stupidly ran out on a perfect chance to get close to Hunter.

Knowing Hunter’s personality, Sam knew that when he returned, Hunter would most likely become avoidant and pretend like nothing had happened—going back to his usual cold ways.

Sam turned the corner as he flinched, jumping back as he placed a hand on his beating heart before he calmed down and frowned once seeing someone. He waited a second as if he was unsure what to do as he placed the blond boy as the guy who Happy said wanted Hunter’s title.

“Are you… okay?” Sam asked awkwardly as he looked over at… what did Happy say his name was again? Lyle! Yes, that’s what it is’ Sam thought quickly. The blond boy looked up through his thin lashes as he winced before looking away. Sam frowned as he eyed the black bruise surrounding the light blue eyes. Lyle rubbed his arm shyly as he sniffled. Sam sat beside him as he smiled softly, oozing with sympathy. “Did… someone do this to you?” Lyle turned to Sam, craning his head as he let his face drop into a sad expression. “Why are you being nice to me… don’t you know who I am?” Honestly, Sam didn’t. All Sam knew was what Happy told him and what he saw that day with Hunter. Lyle wanted Hunter’s title.

As far as Sam knew—that was it. It was just another little petty thing about wanting a title. How was Sam to know Lyle was behind everything that seemed to cause him pain?

“Not really.” Sam answered honestly as the blond laughed, which made Sam laugh too. The two chuckled as Lyle’s laugh faded and he smiled gratefully at Sam.

“You know—you’re a lot nicer than I thought.” Lyle chuckled. Sam tilted his head as he frowned in a confused manner.

“Than you thought?” He repeated innocently. Lyle scratched the back of his messy blond locks as if feeling sheepish.

“Yeah.” he laughed bashfully. “I-I’ve saw you around and well, you look nice, I always thought. But… we’ll you’re Hunter’s roommate and so I wasn’t sure if you were.. you know what—never mind. Ignore me I’m just being an idiot.” Sam smiled as he shook his hand. “No, no. Don’t worry about it.” He grinned as he patted Lyle’s shoulder. Lyle grinned back as the two smiled warmly at each other. “Is your eye okay?” Sam frowned.

Lyle touched it before he winced, inhaling sharply. He dropped his head as a lost, sad look fell upon his features. “I… guess I’m not as nice as I thought” He laughed sadly. Sam frowned as he scooted closer.

“That’s not true. I think you’re nice” Sam admitted honestly. He didn’t really know Lyle but what he was seeing right now was nothing compared to the cocky glimpse he got when Lyle was provoking Hunter.

Lyle rubbed his arms as he curled in on himself. “I… have no friends… I don’t think you should be saying I’m nice…” He whispered, looking down. Sam pursed his lips as if feeling hopeless that he couldn’t help cheering up this sad person.

“I’ll be your friend.” Sam smiled. Lyle lifted his head quickly as shock adorned on his face. He shuffled towards Sam, angling his body towards Sam as his eyes lit up.

“R-Really! you will?!” Lyle spluttered out. He grinned as Sam nodded, smiling a box smile back. Lyle checked his watch as he got up like a happy puppy. “I have to go hand in my coursework but let’s meet up sometime yeah!” He grinned as he waved to Sam who waved back. Sam sat on the window ledge for a bit as he smiled to himself before he realised he had left Hunter waiting and darted up with a curse.

As soon as Sam dashed up he was sent straight back down as he found himself confused and sprawled on his behind on the floor. He groaned, rubbing his butt as he glanced up to see another blond. Though this one he definitely remembered out of jealousy.

“Oh sorry. That was my fault. Are you okay?” Carter smiled kindly as he reached a long, toned arm out. Sam looked up at the peaceful face looking down at him as he hesitantly took the outstretched hand. Sam almost yelped with how easily Carter pulled him up. Sam didn’t have to push himself up at all but just let Carter use unbelievable strength in his one arm to pull him up with ease. The large blond smiled as he chuckled. Sam couldn’t help but think how Carter resembled a golden retriever—one that was always so happy and excited to see people.

“I’m okay.” Sam nodded as he looked behind Carter to see a vending machine. Sam smiled and nodded to Carter as he walked to the vending machine, but Carter walked behind him as he stood beside him with his hand in his pockets, the other holding a basketball. Carter was wearing a basketball shirt and some basketball shorts. The shorts made his legs look longer than they already were, and the shirt made his thick biceps bulge out. Carter too was a blond like Lyle but unlike Lyle’s ridiculously white blond hair that seemed not to have a single different shade in it and being slicked back neatly, Carter’s hair was a messy mop of dark blond and dirty browns all thrown in together. Sam felt jealous of how handsome Carter was and knew without a doubt that he was probably a really great guy too.

“Sam, isn’t it?” Carter asked with a friendly tone. Sam glanced to the side of him before looking back at the snacks and nodding.

“Yeah—um you’re…” He felt bad for not knowing but he really didn’t know.

Carter smiled, and Sam noticed that he always closed his eyes when he did so which just made him look even more like a golden retriever. How could someone be so cute and friendly yet so masculine and muscular? Sam envied him even more.

“Carter” He smiled warmly. Sam nodded before he groaned quietly. Carter frowned as he looked over at Sam in concern. “You okay?”

Sam sheepishly turned to Carter as he scratched the nape of his neck. “Forgot my money… ” he laughed awkwardly.

Carter chuckled before placing money into the machine as Sam stuttered bashfully. “O-oh n-no—you d-didn’t have to do that—I—”

Carter raised both palms with a smile “No, no. It’s okay. My treat.” He nodded. Sam felt guilt eat at him for being so biassed towards Carter who seemed genuinely nice. Sam thanked him as he pressed in the numbers for a KitKat bar. Carter leaned one lean, muscular arm on the top of the vending machine as he leaned into it and rested the basketball against his taunt hip bone. “Listen—Sam. That guy you were just with.”

Sam turned around to see Carter looking uncertain as if he shouldn’t be saying what he wanted too.

“Lyle?” Sam asked through a mouthful of chocolate that he forgot was supposed to be for Hunter.

Carter nodded. “Mmm.” he hummed. “Umm—I’m not sure what you two talked about or anything but just… be careful. Lyle’s… clever. If you need anything just come, ask me.” Carter smiled as he patted Sam’s shoulder and walked away.

Sam nodded slowly as he watched Carter walk away, bouncing the ball against the floor as he slowly made his way back to his dorm as he thought about the two blond’s that popped up from nowhere. He felt guilt rush through him. Carter was really nice, and he disliked him just because he was close with Hunter but from what Sam could see, maybe Carter didn’t like Hunter in that way? Carter didn’t bring Hunter up once if ask him anything about Hunter which would have been the case and he been using Sam to find out stuff about Hunter.

As Sam opened the door to his dorm he stepped in without seeing the white haired male standing behind the corner with a smirk on his bruised face.

“Did he buy it?” Dale whispered down Lyle’s ear. Lyle smirked as his eyes darkened.

“Like a moth to a flame.” He whispered. He reached up and touched his eye as he whined a little. He turned towards Dale as the two headed back to their own dorm. “You could have hit me a bit softer.”

Dale frowned, “Sorry, boss. You said make it look believable.”

Lyle puffed his breath out as he rolled his eyes. “That’s true. Anyway, it’ll be mess as I rip away the only thing he cares about. Then—”

“The title will be mine.”

Hunter craned his head when he heard the slight squeak of the dorm door opening. He watched with intense green eyes as Sam came walking in. He sat in a manly position, his legs spread widely with his elbows resting on his slightly confused as if he was just offered £1000 out of the blue.

As Sam clicked the door shut, he turned around and met Hunter’s eyes closed which seemed to send him back into reality and away from his daze. Hunter glanced down at Sam’s hands which were empty as he stated “What happened to the food?”

He knew really that Sam didn’t originally plan to get food but was just using it as an excuse to rush out, however, he thought it was slightly amusing to watch Sam stutter and try to explain things. Sam sheepishly glanced down before he patted around his body as if frisking himself before he stopped across a small bulge in his pocket and pulled out a half-eaten KitKat. He extended his arm out to Hunter who shook his head and waved his hand coolly. “I was kidding, Bambi. Eat it”

Sam shrugged and ate it before he moved further into the room but not too close to Hunter as he just couldn’t find himself to look into those dark, green eyes of his. Eyes that seemed to send him numb and draw out desires he shouldn’t be having. Sam didn’t know what to say as he awkwardly looked around and so instead he opted for sitting down cross legged on the floor and turning his Xbox on. He glanced aside to see if Hunter was still watching him and then he could use that as the chance to ask Hunter if he wanted to join.

However, Hunter was too busy replacing the frayed string of his stone necklace that he always wore. He even took the time to polish the stone.

Sam turned back to his games and immediately became immersed in shooting as many old ladies as he could. Hunter glanced up over at Sam when Sam cursed loudly and threw the controller down. Placing the stone necklace back around his neck, Hunter stood up at full height, his long legs extended as he walked calmly over to Sam.

“Hey, hey.” he scolded gently, “Calm down.” he tutted as he sat beside Sam.

“What’s wrong?”. He glanced over to where Sam threw the controller down and picked it back up as Sam pouted in an adorable manner that made Hunter’s heart thump widely. He resisted the urge to ruffle the soft caramel locks. Sam placed his face into his palms as he used his kneecaps to support his elbows. He pouted like a five-year-old, a pout that made Hunter want to reach out and grab his squishy cheeks and slam his lips onto the smaller boy.

“I can’t defeat the boss.” he grumbled through squished cheeks.

Hunter resisted the urge to chuckle ever so softly at Sam and instead opted for an eye roll that suited his personality perfectly. Sam watched in shock as Hunter’s fingers swiped across the controller with ease and sent the game character jumping and flipping all over the place whilst basting away the giant granny trying to take over the town. Sam’s mouth fell agape as he batted his lashes in shock.

Once Hunter finished the level with ease he passed the controller over to San who let Hunter place it into his frozen hands.

“Y—you—how—what—when.” Sam could barely get a sentence out and so instead he just stared in shock as Hunter finally gave into his desires and chuckled, reaching out and letting his fingertips slip deep into Sam’s caramel tresses and ruffle them gently, It was as if finally giving up and swallowing down pile after going cold turkey. The moment Hunter’s fingers touched those soft locks and became entangled with them, he felt a shudder of pleasure mixed with relief as all he had been wanting to do was touch them. Little did he know that Sam also had the urge to reach out and touch Hunter’s hair.

Though, Sam did not feel the urge to ruffle them (that he believed Hunter was too manly for) but felt the urge to move them away from his almond shaped green eyes that were always hidden by the ends of his black locks. Sam blushed scarlet as Hunter withdrew his hand. To Sam, Hunter was just finally giving him a friendly gesture—how was he supposed to know about Hunter’s cravings? Sam fiddled with the analogue stick as he pouted again, this time not in a childish way.

Hunter bit down on his cheek inside as he watched Sam with narrowed eyes.

His fingers almost clicked at how hard he was squeezing his hands together, wishing he could just pounce and pin the rabbit to the floor. Hunter rubbed over his face as Sam glanced at him. “Are you tired?” he frowned, worried Hunter may still be ill.

Hunter shook his head as he laid back on the floor with two muscular arms folded behind his head. His stomach grumbled as Sam felt guilt over flood him. “Sorry! I should have let you have the last bars” Sam panicked as he darted up. “I’LL GO GET YOU SOME FOOD!” he darted forward so quickly he did not see that his laces had come undone and so when Sam went tripping over his lace, his arms immediately swinging backwards, he fell straight back down and straight onto the thighs of Hunter, his arm extended out behind him, so he could catch himself but instead landed smack bang in the middle of Hunter’s crotch.

Hunter froze as his arms were now up above his head as if unsure what to do, all he could feel was Sam’s small butt sitting on his thick thighs and his shaking hand placed directly onto his member. Sam too was numb but quickly got up as he rushed outside, not even yelling anything awkward or turning to look at Hunter due to being as red as he had ever been and being completely mortified. Once Sam slipped out the dorm door he slammed himself against the wall as he started breathing quickly before holding his hand up to his face and turning it around in a shaky manor. His eyes widened as he thought,

‘WHY WAS IT SO BIG?!!!!’
