As Hunter closed the door he felt the immediate weight of Sam clinging to his legs again. Sam sobbed, sniffling and choking as he clutched Hunter’s jeans like his life depended on it. Hunter craned half his body round as he sighed and tried to move backwards but could not due to Sam’s steel grip and refusal to let go.
He shrugged off his leather jacket revealing his black tee that was a low V-neck, highlighting his taunt collar bones and the top of his pecks. His biceps bulged against his sleeves as he leaned down to place his hands under Sam’s arms and move the weeping boy off of him for just a second.
However, the minute Sam felt his bottom come into contact with the ground and not Hunter’s foot, he was back to wailing hysterically. Hunter groaned as he palmed his face, splaying his fingers tiredly as he looked down at Sam between them.
He squatted down as he rested his elbows on his kneecaps and looked at Sam with a gentle exhale. “You’re one of those drunks-huh?” he whispered softly as he lifted his hand up to nudge his finger carefully under Sam’s chin.
Sam’s head moved up slightly as tears rolled down his swollen cheeks. He whimpered as he nuzzled his head against Hunter’s finger in return. Hunter groaned softly as he leaned his head against the door behind him and closed his eyes, rubbing his face. He was unsure what to do and felt defeated because when Sam was acting so cute like this and needy for Hunter’s attention—it really made it hard for Hunter to push him away and act as if he doesn’t care.
Sam snorted loudly before he opened his mouth and sobbed out “I MiSSEd yoU.” and wailed afterwards again. Hunter pursed his lips to stop the smile that wanted to make its way onto his face, instead he let the corner if his lips tilt up a little as he chuckled warmly.
“Ah, I was only gone for three hours.” He hummed as he patted Sam’s back. He couldn’t help but act sweet and loving towards Sam—it helped that he knew Sam was so drunk he wouldn’t remember it tomorrow. Perhaps this was his chance to get it out of his system and let himself give in and give Sam affection since he wouldn’t remember it?
“THAtZ too long.” he clutched onto Hunter’s t-shirt as he nuzzled his head into Hunter’s chest. He could feel Hunter’s warm skin on his forehead since Hunter’s shirt was a low V-neck and the warmth brought redness to his cheeks as he closed his eyes and cried against him.
Hunter placed two hands on Sam’s small shoulders as he gently pushed him back. “Bambi. Let’s get you to bed”
Sam groaned as he held tighter onto Hunter’s shirt. His shirt started to pull away from his skin as Hunter struggled to pry open the tight grip.
Finally, Hunter managed to convince Sam to cooperate, but Sam was not helping a lot. Hunter struggled as he lifted up Sam to put him in his bunk but Sam wrapped his arms tightly around Hunter’s neck and would not hop off onto his own bed.
“Bambi. Climb onto your bed.” Hunter groaned. Sam shook his head rapidly and once again held on tighter. Hunter sighed as he lowered Sam and placed him on his own bed where Sam happily crawled in.
Placing his hand on his hips with a ‘really?’ facial expression, Hunter couldn’t help but laugh softly when he saw how easy Sam had become once realising Hunter was letting him sleep in his bed instead of his own.
‘Such a silly baby’ Hunter tutted silently. Hunter pulled his black shirt off of his sculpted torso as he undid the thick, black belt from around his broad waist and untied his shoes tossing them to one side knowing he’d have to clean up tomorrow.
Sam sat up suddenly as he started clawing at his shirt. “ME TOO! ME TOO!” Hunter looked over at Sam, shaking his head for a second before he sat down on the edge of his bed and leaned over towards Sam. Sam held his arms up like a child as Huntergripped the hem of his shirt and slid it off his slim torso with ease.
Sam’s body was tiny and flat compared to Hunter’s sculpted, toned one but Hunter found himself drinking in Sam’s tiny chest and couldn’t help but let his eyes flick over his pink nipples. Looking away with a locked jaw, Hunter stood up as he placed Sam’s shirt much more carefully on the desk rather than tossing it aside.
With a husky voice he instructed, “go to sleep now, Bambi.”
Hunter was about to climb up the ladders when he felt a small hand grip the hem of his jeans. “Hmm?” he glanced down at Sam as Sam looked up at him with a confused, hurt expression that travelled to Hunter’s heart strings and tugged.
Sam smoothed his hand over the small, empty space next to him as he patted it. ‘”You stay here.” he mumbled sleepily as his lids began to flutter. Hunter looked next to Sam before looking at the top bunk then back at Sam’s giant puppy eyes that stabbed his heart and sighed as he gave in and slid in next to Sam.
Lying down, Hunter laid flat on his back with his two arms crossed behind his head as he was ready to just go to sleep and pretend Sam wasn’t sleeping next to him, that it was just his normal, every day night. However, he suddenly let out an ‘oomph’ noise when he felt a light weight on his chest.
Slowly peeking open his eyes in shock, Hunter was met with the sight of Sam curled up on his chest. Sam had not leaned across and rested his upper half on Hunter’s chest but had literally climbed atop of Hunter and curled himself up on his toned chest.
Hunter blinked slowly as his hands hovered over Sam’s back in shock. “Bamb—”
He stopped once feeling the wet tears run down his warm skin and smiled softly as he patted the small boys back, rubbing soothing circles on his small frame as he closed his eyes.
“S’ok, Sam. I’m here.”

As Bear placed Happy and Kay down on the ground of their shared dorm room the two groaned as they crawled towards the same bottom bunk.
Kay extended his arm out as his hand pushed Happy’s cheek away. “Piss off.” he groaned, still slurring his words as he shoved Happy away. “T-this is my—b-b-bed.”
Happy blinked as he tried to widen his eyes into the best puppy dog eyes he could do but was so hammered he just squinted his eyes at different levels, a drunken Kay who saw two Happy’s.
Bear watched from behind as the two wormed their way around each other trying to climb onto the lower bed. He wrapped his arms back under their stomach as he carried them back outside.
The cold air hit the two of them as their bodies hung limp in Bear’s careful grip, watching as the floor moved below them.
As Bear walked down the darkly lit hallway thankful that the two did not make much noise and argue like before but only seemed to slur and grumble under their breaths. They passed Hunter and Sam’s dorm as the three heard a small crash from inside.
“Dammit, Bambi. Quit squirming.”
Bear shook his head as he walked past and headed straight for the shower room. As he stepped inside he walked into the long stalls where a row of multiple showers were placed. He set Happy and Kay back on the ground before bending down and pulling their shoes off.
Kay immediately tried to crawl away but Bear simply picked him up again like a teddy bear full of cotton and placed him under the shower before hitting the button for the stream to come jetting out. Happy was content with sitting against the tiled wall and so Bear did not have to chase after him but simply usher him into the next stall.
Each shower had no wall to separate and so Happy turned onto his side, sitting on the floor with his left side pressed into the tiled wall as he watched Kay as best as he could through the streams of water that blurred his vision as it rolled down his face.
Kay leaned his back against the wall as he closed his eyes and let the water wash away the alcohol. The two became much more aware and now were in a much better state. Although not sober the two were no longer ridiculously wasted.
“Thanks Bear” Happy mumbled as Bear nodded before walking out. He shut the door on the way out as he sleepily made his way back to his dorm he shared with Charlie.
Happy tried to blink away the water as he moved his head a little to avoid such a harsh impact from the stream. Eventually, Kay’s stream ran out of time as it stopped, and Kay sat on the ground with closed eyes as his dark, black hair clung to his skin.
“You okay?” Happy whispered as his stream continued. Kay didn’t open his eyes but just nodded as Happy watched him. For once Happy no longer looked Happy but looked worried and sad as he watched the emotions unravel on Kay’s face. “What is it?”
Kay sighed as he finally cracked open his onyx eyes and tilted his head to look at Happy under the jet of water soaking the boy. “You always defend me. Even when you know I’m lying,” Kay whispered. Happy shuffled up, pulling himself into a better seating position as his stream finally ran out.
Not liking the cold that nipped at him Happy wrapped his arms around himself as the two boys sat soaked to the bone in their clothes as they listened to the silence around them. “Of course, I’d defend you.” Happy frowned.
Kay rubbed his face as if frustrated.
“But I lie to you! I lie to you and you don’t ever call me out on it. You always just smile. Why don’t you hate me? Why—”
Kay jumped when two broad palms smashed against the wall, caging him in between the steamed tiled wall and a soaked Happy. Kay’s eyes flickered down to Happy’s abs that were showing through his soaked shirt before they looked back up to Happy’s serious, determined face.
“Because you mean everything to me.”
Kay flinched in shock as Happy’s eyes melded into his. He gulped as he turned his head away and looked at the moon shining through the glazed glass window on the wall opposite. He looked at blue clouds knitting together and the lonely stars lighting the sky but all he could think about was the boy in front of him who made his heart pound just like when he first met Happy.
Happy breathed out, his warm breath that was tainted with the smell of alcohol running down Kay’s neck as he waited patiently for Kay to say or do something.
Kay lowered his head but Happy placed two gentle fingertips under his chin and lifted Kay’s head as the two adoring eyes met. Happy was not uncertain about anything, his eyes shone with determination as he met Kay’s hesitant gaze.
Happy leaned his head in, tilting his head slightly to fit Kay’s perfectly as he felt Kay’s warm breath on his plump lips. His fingers that rested under Kay’s chin now cupped his jaw and tilted Kay’s head even as he parted his lips, watching Kay.
Everything in Happy screamed for him to just dart forward and slam his lips to Kay but he knew how timid and how easily weary Kay was and so he had to treat Kay as one would treat a frightened animal; approach him slowly and let him court him.
Kay’s eye flickered over Happy’s lips as his finger tips clutched his soaked trousers, his stomach twirling.
Happy stroked Kay’s cheek, his blue eyes flickering to the large onyx eyes and the thin pink lips as he moved his head closer, so their lips barely grazed against each other.
Slowly, Happy pressed a kiss to the corner of Kay’s lips and that was enough for Kay to finally give in and push back his shyness.
