“It sounds crazy for you to say you loved me at first sight, but it will be crazier if I were to tell you that
I love you too.”
LISA
I was about to go nearer to the center when someone aggressively held Jennie’s hand.
“You don’t have to answer his hopeless question, Ruby Jane.”
Okay I admit.
That was cool.
But who is this guy?
“Back off, Kai.”
Mino stood up and held the other hand of Jennie. It looks like they are filming a kdrama and it’s starting to bore and irritate me.
“Oh my gosh, this is amazing!”
“Jennie in between Kai and Mino? She is indeed a princess!”
“Who do you think will she choose?”
“If she chooses Kai, then I’ll flirt with Mino.”
“Daebak! Jennie is in between two handsome guys!”
“Who wouldn’t fell in love with Jennie Kim anyway? She’s got everything.”
Those are the things that these students around me were whispering. They are starting to sound like bees around their queen bee.
“No way. Jennie is mine!”
“Stop it, you two!” Jennie struggled hard to free herself from the grip of the two.
“Jennie, please.”
“No, Jennie. You’re better off with me.”
“Just shut up! Both of you!” Jennie raised her voice an octave higher. The students were like saying ohhhh in chorus while feasting on the live confrontations.
“Jennie. Now is the time to pick. Is it me, or Kai?”
I looked at Jennie who was confused and frustrated. When she looked ahead, our eyes met. I abruptly looked away. I started walking away from them but then Jennie shouted my name.
“Lisa!”
All the students searched for the person whom Jennie called. Some were already looking at me with curious and doubtful eyes. I tried my best not to look back and slowly get out from the crowd but then someone held my wrist and spun me around.
At that moment, all I can see was her, all I can hear was her, and all I can feel was her. It felt like the spotlight in an opera was focused on us. I reached for my chest which was beating like a drumroll when a royalty was about to enter the palace.
This unfamiliar feeling.
What could this be?
I was about to get lost in my thoughts when she spoke again.
“Get me out of here.”
Those were the last words I heard from Jennie before she dragged me to run with her to wherever her feet takes us.
I wasn’t like myself when I allowed her to pull me away from the crowd.
My mind was so busy thinking why would the hell she run with me?
Why did she turn her back from her two lovers and recklessly decide to escape with me?
Why me of all people?
Why it has to be me?
