Taming The Campus Ice Queen (Jenlisa) -Completed- Chapter 26

A+ A-

“If life is a movie, you are the best part.”

JENNIE

Two weeks. It’s been two long weeks since the Founding Anniversary and now, we are busier than ever because the finals is fast approaching. We barely have time to hang out because most of our waking hours are spent in front of a book or a laptop.

Lisa and I are doing well. We are stronger than ever although we bicker a lot because she kept on making fun of me when she’s bored like this one time in the cafeteria when we are eating our lunch.

Flashback #1

“Jennie-yah,” Lisa called me while I was busy picking out the beans from the vegetable viand. I just don’t eat beans. It’s kinda rough when you chew it.

“Yeah?”

“Why are you picking out the beans?”

“I don’t like beans.”

“But beans help you grow taller!”

“The hell I care. I am not growing up anymore!”

“Woah why are you getting angry again? I’m just concerned about you. Maybe if you eat some, you’ll grow even if it’s just 0.0001 cm.”

“Shut up and just eat, okay?”

“You’re such a tease my nini, she uttered as she pinched my cheeks.

End of Flashback

Another was when we are at the bleachers getting some fresh air while Rosé was making her assignment in Biology.

Flashback #2

“Urghh. Is this even a question? Seriously?” Rosé grunted while looking at her LAS.

“What’s that? Homework?” Jisoo asked before she snatched the activity sheet from Rosé.

“Yeah. And it is due this 2 P.M.”

“What kind of question is this? Is this even necessary? What are you? Grade schoolers?” Jisoo was laughing. I was just listening the whole time while Lisa was busy on her phone.

“Let me help you with that, what does question number one says?” Lisa butted in, still on her phone.

“Test 1. Give your own definitions of the following. Number 1, Life.” Jisoo answered.

“Easy. Life….is Jennie,” Lisa answered unexpectedly which made me intrude in the conversation too.

“Why? Is it because I’m your life?” I asked as I gave her my gummy smile.

“Oh come on peps! Not the mushiness again,” Rosé muttered as she motioned to cover her ears with her hands.

“Yeah yeah. Don’t make me puke in front of you. I’m warning you,” Jisoo added.

“Nooooo, it’s not that.” Lisa responded.

“Then why?” I asked.

“It is because life is…..SHORT!” Lisa said before she laughed so hard while smacking Jisoo’s shoulders. The others laughed too while I just shot them a deadly stare.

End of Flashback

Lisa is really topsy-turvy. Sometimes she’s like a baby because she’s too sweet to me but when she’s bored, she’s gonna make fun of me.

So back to reality, we are here at the clinic for a flu shot. We get this every year so that we will not easily catch cold or fever. Lisa, Jisoo, and I are next in line. I’m seated next to Lisa, while Jisoo is seated next to her. Rosé, Mina, Joohyun, and Wendy are already inside getting their shot.

“Lisa, your hands are cold and sweaty. Are you okay?” I asked. We are currently holding each other’s hand.

“Y-yeah.”

“Are you sure?”

“Of course. It’s just that…” she suddenly stopped talking.

Lisa seemed odd today. I don’t even know why. She’s just not so herself. She has been uneasy the whole time that’s why I decided to hold her hand.

“Just what?”

“It’s just that I’m practicing a new skill.”

“What skill?”

“Don’t be shocked, okay?”

“I won’t. Tell me.”

“Water bending,” I hit her lightly in her arms while she laughed at my seriousness.

“Stop kidding around.”

“Okay. Okay. Just don’t hit me,” she paused then she leaned closer to my ear. “Just kiss me instead.”

She whispered before she quickly pulled away and laughed at my expression again.

This girl is really a smooth talker! I almost got goosebumps!

“Lisa!” That’s the only word that came out from my mouth. Jisoo made a fake cough as she raised her eyebrow and fixed her gaze toward us signalling that we are not alone in the room. I looked around and saw that some students were looking at us already.

“Hey. Where are you going Jisoo-yah?” Lisa asked when Jisoo suddenly stood up.

“Home.”

“Why? We are next in line. Aren’t you going to get your flu shot?” I asked.

“No.”

“Why?”

“Because I love the flu.”

Just like that, Jisoo left leaving our mouths hung open.

“Next please!”

We stood up when Rosé’s batch went out. I looked back and saw Lisa, she was still sitting there.

“Hey! It’s our turn. Come on!”

That’s when she snapped back to reality and went inside with me. Our seats are facing each other that’s why I can easily see how Lisa’s face became pale. She kept on tapping her hands on her thighs as we are waiting for the doctor to inject the transparent liquid to us.

“This won’t take long, okay? You will just feel a light sting and then you’re done,” the doctor said as she injected it in my arm. I didn’t even flinch when she did it. When the doctor said that I’m all done, I stood up since it will be Lisa’s turn next. It wasn’t long and I haven’t reached the door yet when I heard a soft thud. When I looked back, I saw Lisa who just passed out.

LISA

“You’re awake?” I heard a familiar voice the moment I opened my eyes. Looking at the white surroundings, I can probably tell that I’m still in the clinic.

Gosh! Did I pass out again? Why does it has to happen every year? Damn it!

“U-uhm y-yeah?” I answered. Jennie hit me in my arms.

“Yah! You’re hurting a patient!”

“Patient my foot! I was worried!” I pulled her for a hug.

“Come on. I’m fine. It’s just that…this happens to me every year and it’s pretty normal.”

“Normal? Does it seem normal to you? You passed out earlier!” Jennie pulled away.

“I know, I know.” I held her hand. I was struggling if I should say it to her or not.

“Let’s go to the hospital next time and let’s have some doctors run some tests on you,” Jennie blurted.

“What? No!”

“Why? You passed out all of a sudden. There must be a reason behind! And you said it happens every year…it could be serious!”

“There’s nothing to worry about. It’s just that I’m….scared. I was scared earlier okay? I’m scared of….needles?” I uttered the last word in a whisper but I guess Jennie heard it well because her worried face turned into something that will tease me any minute.

“You passed out because you were so scared? You were scared of needles all along? Am I hearing you right? That’s why your hands were sweaty and your face was pale?”

“Y-yes.”

“You’re unbelievable Manoban! You’re so funny!”
