Four days later, Evie and her band sat in the taxi on their way to the hotel in Glendale, Arizona. Evie was excited to perform again the next day and she was mostly happy to see Taylor again. They had texted each other a bit but they both had mostly enjoyed their precious time with the family.
In the Taxi, Evie played on her phone to pass some time while the others were napping in their car seats. Evie wished to be able to sleep anywhere but she slept best in her own bed in her apartment. “We just landed and are on our way to the hotel. How was your flight?”, she texted Taylor and was surprise to see that Taylor went online as if on cue. After some seconds of typing she answered: “Horrible! Had the worst turbulences but I am glad I made it out alive haha.”. “Oh no! You’re lucky you’re not afraid of flying. I would have lost it probably. Wanna eat dinner later?”. Evie really wanted to see Taylor that day, she couldn’t wait another day. And she didn’t have to because Taylor agreed and they decided to meet at 7 in the hotel’s restaurant. It was always safer to do all your activities inside of the hotel as there were no paparazzis allowed. They could go out to eat without having to worry about paparazzi pictures even though every one just saw them as friends. Still, Evie wasn’t used to have pictures taken of her from various different angles and she tried to avoid it as much as possible.
Evie ran a little late this evening which was unusual for her. But she and her band had arrived at the hotel later than expected due to traffic which had forced her to get ready in speed mode. When she arrived in the lobby, she already saw Taylor next to the restaurant entrance. She didn’t notice her as she was staring at her phone and Evie took a short moment to just admire her. How lucky was she to be able to spend her evening with her? “Hey you.”, she finally greeted her. “Hey Evie.”, Taylor smiled. They entered the restaurant and a waiter brought them to a small table in the corner of the room. They were both quite happy with that place as it allowed more privacy, even though the hotel was pretty empty apart from a few business men and one other couple in their 50s. The good thing about expensive hotels was the fact that most guest didn’t really care about celebrities who resided there. Still, Evie and Taylor kept their distance, just in case. “Being alone was great but I’m honest, I am relieved to have a dinner tonight without family members asking me whether I want to marry in the future and that I should keep my biological clock in mind if I think about children. Ugh…I only wanted to eat some turkey a chat about other people’s gossip, not mine.”, Taylor exhaled. “That sound’s exhausting, I am quite happy my family doesn’t want me to ever date again after my last breakup because it saves me from questions.”. “It’s cute how they care about you.”, Taylor said with a warm expression on her face. “What can I get you, Ladies?”, the waiter interrupted them and they needed to make their order. Evie had not even looked into the card yet as she had been busy looking at Taylor, so she decided to get whatever she got. “Hmm…I think I can’t even say that I don’t drink before shows anymore because I keep breaking that rule…”, Taylor said more to herself than to Evie or the waiter next to them. “But can I get a rosé and the the salmon filet please?”. “Same for me, thanks.”, Evie quickly added. The waiter took their cards with him and left for the kitchen.
“You seemed a bit more disciplined when I met you.”, Evie mocked Taylor when their dirks arrived and Taylor held her arms in the air as a sign of surrender. “It’s always the same. I start the tour with the most strict plan and I find myself going to parties on off-days by the end of it.”.
It was a beautiful evening full of laughter and a lot of catching up even though they had not seen each other for a few days. Taylor told her about how she was hoping to release a new album by the start of the new year and they started talking about their collaboration. Their food took quite a long time to come and they were already on the their refill of their drinks by the end of the dinner. “I think we should try to out the bridge an see how it sounds. I sometimes struggle with bridges so I am happy that you came up with this one.”, Evie told her and still had to grin when she thought about how Taylor had sent it to her that day. “I actually wrote that bridge the day after our kiss in New York. I was sitting on my bed and kept thinking about you and how much better it would have been to be with you. But I kept it in my notes app. Of course, this songs isn’t about me but I wrote that bridge just about you and I couldn’t show it to you and pretend that it referred to someone else.”. “I’m glad you made that bold move to send it to me Tay.”. “Hey, I’ve got my travel guitar up in my hotel room, why don’t we try it out just now?”, Taylor suddenly asked her and Evie saw her eyes shine. It was cute to see how Taylor always got excited like a little kid when she talked about producing music. “Do you always write your songs tipsy?”, Evie laughed but she knew well that she wouldn’t say no to Taylor’s offer. “No but I can tell you that a lot of great bridges were created that way!”.
Half an hour later, they were in Taylors hotel room. Taylor’s bodyguard was under the impression that they were working on music together and Evie knew that she couldn’t stay that long as it was already 10 pm. She didn’t want it to look weird from an outside perspective even though she had hung out at Taylor’s room before developing feelings without questioning the outside impression. But things were different now and Evie felt as if she had a sign on her back saying “I want to kiss Taylor Swift once were alone”. They both sat down on the bed and Taylor grabbed her guitar to quickly try some chords of the song. They both had their phone laying in front of them to have a look on the lyrics. “So let’s go through the whole song together and see how it works.”, Taylor suggested and Evie nodded in agreement. When she took a closer look at the lyrics, she noticed that the was more tipsy than she had thought she was in the restaurant. The words were a little blurry but she tried to ignore it and do it as best as she could. Taylor didn’t look much soberIn her defense, Taylor didn’t look particularly sober either. “Okay so, 1,2,3…”, Taylor counted and they began singing. Evie got flashbacks from the night at Taylors house were everything had started to change for them. Their voices matched so well and despite the alcohol in their system, they managed to get through the first half without any mistakes. Evie had some trouble singing the bridge because it was faster than the rest of the song and she had not written it. “Could you sing it alone one time so I can get used to the sound?”, Evie asked Taylor. She agreed and adjusted her guitar a little to play the bridge on more time. It kind of felt like a private acoustic set and Evie loved every second of it.
“I’m gonna bend ’til I break and
You’ll be my favourite mistake
I wish you could hold me here, shakin’
You’re the risk, I’m gonna take it
Why aren’t you here in my bedroom?
Hopelessly boring without you
I am just falling for –”
Taylor stopped singing. “I can’t do this if you keep looking at me like this!”, she exclaimed and shyly looked at her phone in front of her. “What! How do I look?”. “I don’t know, you just looked at me with these incredibly cute eyes of yours…It distracted me.” Now, Evie blushed a litte. Taylor had told her before that she liked her and that she had wanted to kiss her but hearing her talk about her eyes made her feel flustered. “I’m sorry I can’t do anything else but look at you. And I really wanted to hear the bridge to know how to sing it but I got distracted if I’m honest…”, Evie admitted. They were both sitting in front of each other blushing and there was nothing to do about it. “Well, if we’re both distracted now, we can just leave it and work on it another time.”, Taylor said, laid her guitar on the ground and bend over to kiss Evie passionately. It felt like both of them had just waited for this moment to happen as they couldn’t keep their hand to themselves. Their kiss intensified as Evie gently pushed Taylor onto the bed and was no laying on her. “I’ve missed you.”, Taylor managed to say in between kisses which made Evie fall for her all over again. “I’ve missed you too.”, Evie answered. They were in perfect harmony while everything around them didn’t matter anymore as longs as their bodies were intertwined. “Can I take this off?”, Evie asked Taylor and fidgeted with Taylors top. “Please.”. There was no more to say. Evie felt Taylor’s soft skin against her body and felt her heart jump when Taylor pulled her even to closer to herself and placed her hands on Evie’s breasts. To be this close to her was nothing she had expected before the show but there she was; In a hotel bedroom with Taylor and she was the one to place little kisses all over her body. This wasn’t Evie’s first time with a girl. There had been a hookup at a party during university but the other had claimed to be straight and had only wanted to try something out. It had meant nothing to the girl and to Evie, but this time it was different. She didn’t want to do something wrong. Evie placed a kiss under Taylors belly button and moved her face towards Taylor’s panties.
“Are you sure about this?”, she asked, her fingers touching its fabric. “I am, Evie.”
