“If this is how bi-panic feels, I’m totally in for it…”, Taylor said smiling after the kiss. “It’s good to see you smile again, Taylor. Kam was actually worried about you too.”, Evie told her relieved to know that Taylor had not ignored because she had wanted distance from her. Taylor only gave her a questioning look and Evie decided to tell her what he had told her that morning. She left out the part of their conversation at Friendsgiving because Evie didn’t know if she wanted Kam to know about her feelings. “That’s actually so sweet of Kam, he’s so caring. I was quite upset yesterday. I know…After Friendsgiving it kind of hit me that I wanted to touch you and be close to you all night long while I thought you were fine with the way it was. I desperately needed time for myself to try to get over it but that wasn’t possible you know…”. She still seemed upset when she talked about it and Evie only wanted to cuddle her as tight as she could and tell her that she didn’t need to worry. But she held herself back and only laid her hand on her thigh to show her that she was there for her. Taylor had just told her about her feelings, there was no reason to rush this. They both smiled at each other and both had a glimpse of uncertainty in their eyes. “I hate to ruin this moment now but I actually need to go now. I’ve booked a studio in the city to work on some new stuff with my friend Jack. I don’t know if I’ll make it in time for your set, so please don’t think that I don’t want to see you.”, Taylor suddenly said with a sad expression on her face that told Evie she didn’t want to be anywhere else than in this room with her. “It’s alright. I’m glad we talked.”. “I’d love for you to stay for my set later if you want. Maybe we can talk afterwards?”, Taylor suggested there was no way Evie could have said no to this. Evie brought Taylor to the door where they shared a long, warm hug that for some reasons felt just as intimate as their kiss earlier. “I’ll see you!”, Taylor said at last and gave her a wink before she left.
The door was closed and Evie let herself fall on her hotel bed to stare at the ceiling. The past 20 minutes had not felt real. In the last weeks, she had tried to get over Taylor, to not fall into this hole of sadness and desperation for someone who wouldn’t like her back. She had gone through this while Taylor had been on dates with Travis where she had secretly thought about her. There has been no reason for her to lie to Taylor about the kiss and now she was there in her room and still felt the warmth of Taylor’s lips on hers. She would have like to get out on her balcony and scream into the world that she liked Taylor and that she liked her back, not in a platonic way. But this moment also felt too precious to share with anyone at this time and she just enjoyed laying there thinking about what had just happened. She knew that she wouldn’t be able to concentrate during her set that day just as she had struggled the night before. But this time, she had a positive reason to be distracted.
Hours later, Evie had finished her set and stood in the vip tent with her band to watch Taylor perform. The crowd was wild that day and Evie knew that Taylor enjoyed every single minute of it. This was also one of the first shows that she was able to enjoy herself. She didn’t have to worry about another guy admiring her and she didn’t have to face to the struggle to try and get over Taylor. She didn’t want to get over her and on this day, she didn’t feel like she had to. Her band enjoyed the show just as much as she did, especially Sarah who danced her heart out during Taylor’s 1998 set. Evie danced with her alongside thousands of fans who all shared a special love for Taylor. Everyone in this room had their own connection to her but only Taylor and her knew about their special one
After 1998, it was time for the acoustic set. Everyone looked forward to this moment and Evie could feel the anticipation in the stadium. Taylor loved this part of the show because it allowed her to create something new each concert. She was really secretive about it and didn’t even tell her team members about it which made it even more mysterious and special. Taylor wore her red dress and sat down at the piano, smiling at her hands which played the first few sounds of the surprise song. Taylor only had to sing a few words from her old song “15” to make the whole crowd started to scream. Evie and Sarah smiled at each other. This atmosphere was something else and she was grateful so experience it while also being able to live out her own dreams of being on the stage. Evie listened to Taylor and the crowd and dint pay much attention to the lyrics because there was so so much else to pay attention to; Taylor’s cute face while singing, fans who cried, fans who sang along wholeheartedly and fans who stood there in admiration of Taylor just as Evie mostly did.
But when Taylor reached the chorus for the second time, the whole stadium seemed to disappear around Evie and Taylor and she realised why Taylor had chosen that song for the night.

Taylor’s smile was priceless and Evie couldn’t stop beaming while they both shared their little secret no one else around them knew about. There were thousands of people in the stadium tonight but at this exact moment, it was just Taylor and her.
