The next day was a show day and as much as she loved performing, she didn’t want to step on this stage and sing about love. The memories of the night before flashed before her eye and she could still feel Taylor’s soft lips on hers. But that feeling was overshadowed by the headache that followed her through the whole day. How was she supposed to perform?
Evie arrived at the stadium early as alway, headphones on because she couldn’t take it to speak to anyone. Had she ruined the friendship? Had she used Taylor’s drunkenness? But at the same time she couldn’t forget how right the kiss had felt and how everything had felt complete while it had lasted. It was dilemma and Evie was in the middle of it. She had to talk to Taylor but she wasn’t ready to because she knew she wouldn’t be able to voice her thoughts. As if on cue, Taylor appeared in the doorframe of Evie’s dressing room. She did not break the ritual. “Do you feel fit to perform?”, she asked her and looked a bit sleepy herself. Evie was about to say something but Taylor wasn’t finished. “I am usually not allowed to drink before a show and today I got reminded why haha…”, she nervously laughed and looked a bit uncomfortable. “Yeah I’ve got the worst headache but that’s the price you have to pay I guess…”, Evie answered just as nervously. Before they could continue their conversation, they got interrupted by Taylor’s PR executive Tree who happened to pass the dressing room on her way to Taylor’s. “Taylor I need to talk to you real quick. Sorry to interrupt you guys.”, she said and seemed to be in a hurry. Taylor gave Evie an apologetic smile and went with Tree while Evie stood there unable to move. The vibe between Taylor und Evie was awkward but at least Taylor came up to her to talk. Evie was not sure what to read into the previous situation and luckily, she had not much time do overthink because her set was about to start.
Taylor was a professional. No one in the audience knew what had happened the night before and there was no way to tell by Taylor’s face. Evie got herself ready and went back to her apartment. It was their last day in her home town and she needed some more time in her safe space. She also needed to make up her mind about her conversation with Taylor because she could not just ignore what they had done. And there was no way to ignore Taylor as her face seemed to be everywhere, even for people who were not secretly crushing on her. Her Instagram discovery page was full of tour videos and pictures and as much as she appreciated fans who posted about Evie set, she only wanted to forget that she was currently touring. She was just about to close Instagram and distract herself with reading, when the stumbled upon a post by a tabloid magazine.

Football sweetheart Travis Kelce made sure not to miss his opportunity when Taylor came to Kansas City for her successful “The Eras Tour”. He was seen dancing and cheering in the VIP tent along his football colleagues and seemed to enjoy every minute of Taylor’s performance. In his latest podcast episode with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis told him about his visit and how much he loved it. “This woman is unbelievable.”, were his last words before they changed the topic to football again. Evie knew what she had to do. She needed to talk to Taylor to tell her that the kiss meant nothing. She didn’t want to lose her as much as she didn’t want to see her with another person. She was her friend after all…
