“We’re almost there.”
Mhok whispered to Day, who was slowly becoming drowsy due to the journey.
“That’s good,” Day scooted closer to Mhok, “I want to rest.”
Mhok clasped Day’s hand in his, “Just hold out for a little longer. Hm?”
Day nodded, smiling a little.
“Hazel will be alright, right?” He asked, after some time.
“Don’t worry,” Mhok assured, “He’ll be fine. Derek has taken care of him before, and he’ll do it even better now.”
That made Day relax.
A few more minutes into the journey, Mhok felt a weight on his shoulder, causing him to stiffen.
Day was resting his head on his shoulder. Mhok was so ecstatic that he could’ve jumped out of the taxi just out of sheer happiness, but he didn’t, thanks to his conscience.
He then noticed that their fingers were still intertwined, causing him to grin even wider. He had never experienced so much joy before. Day really had changed his life for the better.
Lifting up their hands, he placed a soft kiss on Day’s hand.
He stayed like that, cherishing the moment for as long as he could before the car came to a halt.
“Day,” He gently tapped Day, “Wake up. We’ve reached.”
Day woke up with a slight groan, and Mhok couldn’t stop that amused chuckle that escaped his lips.
“So, this has to be your house,” Mhok said as the car drove away, “From the photo in your gallery, I’m sure that this is your house.”
Day laughed, “You make it sound like I’m some lost boy who found his house.”
“I’m a little enthusiastic and nervous,” Mhok glanced at his boyfriend, “Don’t mind me.”
Clutching Mhok’s hand, Day began walking while Mhok marveled at the mansion. It was not only huge but also beautiful.
“You don’t have to be nervous,” Day said, “You know that I’ve already informed them about us.”
Mhok knew that. He had done that, too. Before visiting each other’s houses, they had to make sure that their parents knew about their relationship.
Mhok’s parents were fine since they already knew that their son swung both ways, and surprisingly, Day’s parents were even more excited because their son had a lover finally. They had also liked Mhok from the beginning, so everything went well. Yet, none of these calmed Mhok’s racing heart.
“Gosh,” Day laughed, “Calm down, will you? I can feel the nerves radiating off you.”
Mhok chuckled, “Alright, but can you blame me? I have to impress my boyfriend’s parents.”
Day shook his head, “You’ve impressed the boyfriend so nothing else matters.”
Mhok found himself blushing at his heart-fluttering words, “Okay then.”
They rang the bell, and within a minute, a woman opened the door, wearing a cheerful smile, “You guys are finally here!”
Day’s smile widened when he recognized the voice, “Mom!”
Mhok released Day’s hand so that he could hug his mother. Noticing the gesture, Day stepped forward with open arms. Day’s mother hugged him without wasting another moment.
Day’s eyes teared up. He had missed his family more than he realized. Soon enough, Day’s father also joined their emotional reunion.
All this while, Mhok stood there, glancing affectionately at the beautiful scene in front of him. Day’s happiness was the source of his happiness as well.
“Come in both of you,” Day’s mother invited them into their grand abode.
Mhok looked around the place, appreciating its beauty. It was neatly kept with minimal but enough furniture and decoration. Mhok figured that it was for Day so that he didn’t stumble around objects.
“It’s dinner time,” Day’s father announced.
“I’m a little tired, dad,” Day informed.
“What about Mhok?” His father glanced at Mhok, “Do you also not want dinner?”
“I’d like it,” Mhok smiled politely, “I’m quite hungry, actually.” His statement caused all of them to laugh.
“I’ll also join for dinner then,” Day changed his mind.
“Ah, you changed your plans because of your boyfriend, I see.” Day’s mother teased.
Day was caught off-guard. He forgot how crass his mother could be, “Mom!”
“Oh, someone’s blushing,” Day’s dad pointed out.
“I’m not!”

“Day, are you done yet?”
“Yes, I’m done!” Mhok heard him from the bathroom.
After a couple of minutes, Day exited the bathroom with a sheepish grin, “I didn’t take too long, did I?”
Mhok almost rolled his eyes, but seeing the cutie in front of him, he could never.
“I finished my bath in like 3 minutes,” Mhok huffed, pretending to be mad.
“I’m sorry for having hygiene,” Day snapped, with a smirk.
With an amused grin, Mhok stepped towards Day, “Oh really?”
“Um, yes.”
Mhok shook his head, “Your hair’s dripping, let me dry it.”
“Oh, alright.”
With a new towel, Mhok began drying off Day’s hair, “You know what?”
“What?”
Mhok’s eyes sparkled with a mischievous glint, “We could’ve saved both time and water if we just bathed together.”
Day’s eyes widened, “P’Mhok!” He smacked Mhok’s arm.
What was with everyone teasing Day today?
“Why? You don’t like the idea?” Mhok couldn’t help but adore Day’s red cheeks at that moment.
“No, I don’t.” He put on a poker face, “I know this place like the back of my hand. So I need no assistance. Or company.” He added.
Mhok put up his arm in defense, “Alright, alright. A man can try.”
“And you failed,” Day said smugly.
“Yeah, whatever,” Mhok pouted.
“Aw, is someone mad?” Day asked as if talking to a child.
“Probably,” Mhok left the small towel around Day’s neck, resting his hands on his shoulders.
“Okay then,” Day blinked innocently, “Stay mad.”
Mhok gasped dramatically, “Aren’t you going to comfort your boyfriend? You meanie.”
Day sighed, equally dramatic, “Fine, what should I do?”
Mhok smirked, “Kiss me.”
Day’s face heated up at his sudden demand, “N-Now? My parents are waiting downstairs, let’s not waste more time.”
“Fine then,” Mhok pouted again, “I’ll be sad for two days, but I’ll be alright.”
Day shook his head, “Gosh, you’re such a kid.”
“Hmph.” Mhok folded his arms before his chest.
“Fine,” Day gave in, “Come here.”
Mhok’s eyes lit up, and he moved closer to him. Day’s hands found Mhok’s face after some time.
“Only one kiss, alright?”
“Yep.” Mhok looked at his boyfriend in anticipation. Day’s closed his eyes, and so did Mhok.
Quickly, Day placed a kiss on Mhok’s cheek and retreated back, suppressing a victorious grin.
Mhok had his mouth hung open, “That was unfair.”
Even while complaining, Mhok knew that his heart was filled with the cheek kiss itself, but he was not going to let Day know that.
“You didn’t specify where I was supposed to kiss,” Day stuck out his tongue.
Mhok huffed again, “You clever little- “
“Save it.” Day raised a hand up, “We’re already late. Don’t wanna keep your future in-laws waiting, do you?”
Mhok was speechless, and Day took that as an opportunity to scurry out of the room.
“What did you say?” Mhok whispered into the air because Day had left long ago.
He covered his face with his hands, walking around the room, unable to contain his shock and joy.
Did that mean Day didn’t mind marrying him sometime in the future?
After jumping around for some more time, Mhok hurried downstairs.
After all, he didn’t want to keep his future in-laws waiting.
