You clear your throat, “Hey William!” you greet, avoiding his gaze like a child who’s done something wrong.
“Hello Y/N, hey kids.” William greets back to the three of you, not taking his eyes off you though, “So what are we talking about?” William asks, his usual grin smeared across his handsome face.
“Nothing,” Michael says, bluntly as he doesn’t even look at his father. William more or less ignores Michael and stares at you expectantly, you can’t help but feel queasy from his stare. It’s…weird.
You slowly make eye contact with him as you speak, “It’s nothing important, just some fun stuff. That’s all.” You can tell William isn’t convinced but he seems to brush it off.
“Alright then, anyways, I’m assuming Elizabeth is with a friend?” William says to his children whilst raising an eyebrow to which Evan nods in response to.
William just nods before turning back to you, this mischievous grin on his face, different from the grin he just had. You can’t help but feel unsettled by it, there’s this weird glint in his eye that so far you haven’t been able to unravel. You know it’s weird but you want to know more about William, why he acts and does what he…does. You’ve seen William at moments where you felt scared and moments where you were flustered. It’s just unnerving to look at, you really like this man but you literally know nothing about him. William could be a murderer! Hah… Seriously, what is he hiding?…
You realize you’ve been staring at him, thankfully he hasn’t noticed. So, you dart your eyes away so that you’re not staring anymore, recently you’ve been trying to contain your “staring problem.” You still struggle but you have been better, you don’t need William to catch you staring every other waking minute. It’s so embarrassing especially when he calls it out or teases you about it. You work with him so it’s harder and will become more common since he’s fucking hot, he knows it. How could he not?
“Hey, Y/N, can I talk to you?” William asks suddenly, his eyes meeting yours when you look in his direction again.
“Uh, of course!” You say, a little bit nervous but nonetheless, he’s your boss, so you need to go right?
“Behave you two,” William says, glancing at his kids who just stare back, it’s a little awkward as he starts to talk to them. You blank off, it’s none of your business really.
Once he’s finished lecturing his kids, he meets up with you whilst you wait for him. Surprisingly, he takes you backstage for some reason. You don’t know what’s going on right now… But you hope it’s nothing bad, he did say just a talk? Whatever you guess. You stare at him for a second and are taken aback when he grabs your hand to pull you further backstage. You’re back to where you had the incident, that you’d rather not think about right now, it’s far too embarrassing. You notice Bonnie is still backstage, which is weird, you’d think it would be on the stage by now. You don’t know how you didn’t see him when you passed the stage, you were probably too busy thinking…
“I know you said no the first time but I thought that maybe you’d change your mind this time. It’d mean a lot to me.” William states, bluntly.
“What do you mean?” You ask, wanting clarification because that was so sudden.
“Do you want to try on Bonnie?” William blankly asks, walking over to the sunken bunny suit in the corner. It looks fucking horrifying when it’s empty like that, it’s spring locks are still wound up.
“Um, I don’t know…” You respond, fidgeting with your fingers as you think about those fucking spring locks.
“C’mon, it’s not that bad. I promise.” William soothes you, rubbing your arm gently which makes you blush ever so slightly. The way he rubs your arm is so comforting yet it also sends shivers down your back, you don’t know why. It’s so random, in all seriousness,
“William, I get that you go inside it all the time but that doesn’t really make me feel better.” You mumble, looking away as you shove your hands into your pockets.
“Don’t be such a party pooper, I thought you were fun, Y/N…” William complains, a playful tone accompanying his voice as it’s as silky as you remember when you first met him.
“I just-” you try to say.
“No, it’s fine, you don’t want to. I just thought you trusted me.” William says with a disappointed undertone, you can’t help but feel bad. He’s so passionate about his creations and you keep turning him down. William probably just wants someone to express his love for what he’s built and worked for, and you… You wanna be that person.
“I do!” You squeak out, finding it hard to say no when he’s like this.
“Oh? So you’ll do it?” William insists, making your stomach do a fucking cartwheel. You can’t really back out now, can you?
“Um… I guess?” You agree, sort of… You’re trying to push your emotions and fear away, it’ll still be there but it’s the least you could do. Right?
“Great! Just, you might want to switch shirts or something. That lace could set off the spring locks,” William says, giving your collar a little tug with a slight chuckle escaping his kissable lips.
You blush slightly, you don’t actually have anything underneath, also you still are curious about the spring locks…”Since I’m going inside it, could you tell me what happens when the spring locks… go off?” You ask, pleading in your head that he won’t say no since it’s considered fucking dangerous…
“Well, fine. Only because you’re going inside…” William starts before continuing, “First, they’ll cut into you your skin, leaving a litter of deep cuts everywhere and every spot. Then all the steel and plastic will be driven into your body deep, puncturing your organs till you slowly and painfully bleed to death. And you can’t scream once it punctures your vocal cords.” William says, this unfamiliar tone in his voice, his normally silk like voice coming off as if it’s coated with venom. Like a serpent.
You just stand there, completely petrified by that description, it sends heavy shivers down your spine. How does William know this? That unspoken question just sends your brain into flight or fight mode. But you freeze, freeze like a deer in headlights… William seems to have noticed your reaction, and you see this slight smirk go on his face before it’s replaced with a worried look. That smirk, even though it was only there for a second, sends that same feeling of fear right through you. What the fuck was that smirk for? Sure he made these things but smirking while you talk about the possible death of wearing them? William, what the fuck…
“I promise nothing bad will happen, it hasn’t failed me now. Has it? You’ll be fine.” William reassures, or at least he tries. It does nothing for your obsessive worries that flood your brain like a faucet in which has been left on and forgotten.
“You have practice!” You exclaim, backing up from the suit suddenly, a little bit of anger flowing in your veins. How is he so dismissive about this!? You’re so obviously terrified, how could you not? All you have been told about these things is that they’re popular with the kids and that they’re literally dangerous!
“Well, obviously there was a time I didn’t. And Henry too, neither of us are dead, are we?” William asks that same disturbing and unfamiliar tone coats his voice once more. Sending painful shivers down your spine once again like you’ve been stabbed.
“Where did you get that description then?!” You exasperate, backing away more when William reaches for you. William stares at you when you do so, you can’t help but dart your eyes away.
“I’m just making a guess by the positions of the spring locks, I don’t get why you’re getting mad,” William mutters, a slight tone of annoyance in his now rough voice, what happened to that as smooth as silk tone? He leans against the wall, arms folded as his eyes bore into yours.
“I… I’m not mad. I just, the description scared me, that’s all…” You mumble, embarrassed for blowing up. William’s reasoning is believable yet disturbing to think about, you probably just overreacted over nothing. Again…
