Janet P.O.V.
Toni and I were downstairs on the couch, waiting for Tamar to descend. We had made reservations for 9:00 at Red Lobster and we were already 15 minutes late waiting for her. Her date hadn’t even arrived to the house yet. I could feel Toni’s agitated energy next to me. I smiled slightly, patting her thigh.
Janet: Haven’t I told you patience is a virtue?
Toni: Yes, but so is being on time. She’s probably trying to upstage me in front of you.
Janet: No one can upstage you babe. Look at how stunning you are. You’re the only woman I see.
Toni: I could say the same about you. We make a sexy ass couple.
Just as she leaned over to kiss me, Tamar came waltzing down the stairs. I took one look at her and my breath was taken away from me. I was trying not to stare at her in front of Toni, but my eyes were naturally drawn to her beauty. Toni grabbed my chin and turned my head so that I was looking at her, but I felt myself fighting to catch another glimpse of Tamar.
Tamar: I’m sorry I kept you two waiting. It took me forever to find something to wear.
Toni: A bit over the top don’t you think?
Tamar: All I really have is stripper clothes. This is the nicest thing I could find. I could just stay home if it’s a problem.
Janet: It’s not that serious. You’re already dressed so we should just get going before we lose our seats. You look good, Tay.
Toni: Oh she does?
Janet: It’s just a compliment babe. You don’t have any competition when it comes to me.
She winked and smirked at Tamar, kissing me slowly, knowing Tamar was watching. I placed Toni’s fur coat on her shoulders as we walked out of the house. Charles was waiting for us with the candy apple Rolls Royce.
Toni: Tamar, where’s your date?
Tamar: She’ll be meeting us there. I talked to her and she said she’s going to be a little late.
Toni: I guess that’s one thing you both have in common.
I rolled my eyes, sliding into the car. Toni was steadily throwing tiny jabs and I could tell that Tamar wasn’t going to just sit there and take it for too long. I found myself glancing at Tamar when Toni wasn’t looking. She left very little to the imagination in that dress. Toni was staring at her as well, but in anger and envy. This was going to be a long night for all three of us.

I walked into the restaurant with Toni on my left arm and Tamar on my right. Our hostess led us to a private area with luxurious seating. I sat next to Toni while Tamar sat across from me. I ordered champagne all around the table. Toni turned to me and started a conversation, but I could tell Tamar felt out of place.
Janet: So Tamar, is there anything you want us to know about your date?
Tamar: She’s someone very close to Toni, but I don’t think you know her. On the other hand, Toni might have told you about her before. Here she comes now.
We all turned to see a cinnamon brown skinned goddess with raven hair and intense hazel eyes approaching us. Tamar stood up with a smirk on her face, hugging the woman and kissing her on the lips. I looked over at Toni and she looked like she had seen a ghost from the dead. Her entire face was flushed and she looked sick to the stomach, like she would have a nervous breakdown. I put two and two together and I finally pieced my wife to the mysterious temptress. I was surrounded by beautiful women and ugly secrets.
She sat down directly in front of Toni, staring into her eyes with a look of dangerous lust. Tears were in Toni’s eyes, but they never fell. I tried to touch her, but she snatched away from me in a sharp motion. If looks could kill, both Tamar and the mystery woman would be six feet deep.
Tamar: Janet, this is Robyn, Toni’s ex that she told you so much about. Isn’t she a sight for sore eyes-
Toni: Tamar, what the HELL is she doing here?!
Toni was squeezing her champagne glass so hard that it shattered in her hands. I jumped and stifled a scream, but Toni didn’t flinch from the shards piercing her hand. She had death in her eyes, but Tamar and her date sat smugly with taunting smiles on their faces.
Tamar: What do you mean Toni? Robyn is my date. I thought this would be a nice walk down memory lane for you. Plus Janet wanted to know so much about women you’ve been with before her, I thought this would be a good learning experience for the both of you.
Toni: Robyn you have no place in my life anymore so why can’t you just leave me the fuck alone?!
Toni broke another glass with her bare hands and people were staring by now. By the look on Tamar’s face I could tell she orchestrated this all and she was loving the show. At the time I didn’t know whether to comfort Toni or jump over the table. Part of me just wanted to get my wife home, but the other part of me wanted to hear what Robyn had to say.
Robyn: I’m not even really here for you Toni because you know what really went down between us, but your wife doesn’t. I’m here for Ms. Jackson. Toni’s disgusting lies end with you.
Janet: Babe, what is she talking about? Is there something you didn’t tell me that night?
Robyn: Oh there’s a lot she didn’t tell you. Your wife is a very naughty girl, Ms. Jackson.
Robyn smirked, clinking her glass against Tamar’s before taking a sip. I stared at Toni with pain written all over my face. I tried to hide it before the real truth came out, but I didn’t know what to believe. She wouldn’t even look me in the eye.
Janet: Please tell me what she’s saying isn’t true baby and we can go home and pretend this night never happened. We promised each other no more secrets and lies.
Toni: Are you seriously questioning my trust?
Robyn: She has all the reason to.
Toni: You shut the fuck up! Baby, you can’t believe anything that comes out of this bitch’s mouth. She’s just jealous of what we have and she wants to destroy it, just like Tamar!
Tamar: If she’s lying then why can’t you look your wife in the eyes? She’s pouring her heart out to you, begging for the truth from your lips, and you can’t even give her that-
Toni: SHUT THE HELL UP TAMAR!
She picked up a plate and threw it, only missing Tamar’s head by an inch. She tried to storm off, but I grabbed her wrist tightly, making her freeze in her tracks.
Janet: You don’t get to walk away this time. This will not go unfinished.
We all rode in seperate cars back to the house, Toni and I in one car, and Tamar and Robyn in the other. Toni didn’t look at me once. Once we got to the house we would lay it all out on the table. No stone would be unturned. I knew I was playing with fire, but I wasn’t going to be the one to get burned. Not ever again.
