Tamar P.O.V.
Robyn and I were back at her apartment celebrating our success in the destruction of Toni and Janet’s marriage. I hated that I had to hurt Janet in the process, but I would be there to kiss, suck, lick, and caress all her pain away. I have Robyn under my full control. She’s so desperate to be loved by me that she can’t even see that I’m using her. She’s been obsessed with me since the day I first walked into the Pink Pony strip club. She’s a slave to my seduction. I knew how easy it would be to make her my bitch. She’s still useful to me for now, but once I have Janet, she’ll be eliminated just like Toni.
Robyn and I were laying by the fire, her lips on my neck when I got a call from the hospital. I gave Robyn a knowing wink before I answered.
Tamar: Hello….yes this is she. Oh my God is she ok?!… I’ll be right there!
I hung up, rising from the fur carpet and slipping back into my dress and heels. I looked down at Robyn, smirking. She was staring up at me with so much love in her piercing hazel eyes. How pathetic.
Robyn: Is the job done?
Tamar: Not quite yet. I have my own unfinished business that I need to take care of. Don’t you move. I won’t be gone long. Stay just like that.
Robyn: Whatever you wish, lover.
I pecked her lips and grabbed my car keys, heading out of the door. I laughed all the way to the hospital. Once I arrived I sat in the parking lot and made a phone call.
???: I did what you asked. Where’s my money?
Tamar: I made it clear to you that you won’t be paid until I’m sure that she’s dead.
???: The way I came speeding at her, hell there’s no way she could be alive! I took a look at her body…she wasn’t breathing when I left her.
Tamar:*chuckles* I’m sure you did take a look at her body, creep. I’m at the hospital now. You better pray to God that you killed her or else…
???: I forgot how fucking sexy you can be girl, damn.
I scoffed and rolled my eyes in disgust, ending the call. I strolled calmly across the parking lot, but once I stepped foot inside, I ran up to the front desk with tears streaming down my face.
Tamar: Where the hell is my sister?! I need to see my sister! Tell me where the hell she is!
Receptionist: Ma’am, I need you to calm down-
Tamar: FUCK THAT! WHERE IS MY SISTER! IF SHE DIES I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL BURN THIS FUCKING HOSPITAL TO THE GROUND!
A doctor raced over to calm me down. His name tag read Dr. Howard.
Dr. Howard: I understand you’re worried about your sister, but you need to keep calm or you won’t be allowed to see her.
Tamar:*crying* I’m s-sorry. I-it’s just that m-my sister i-is the o-only f-family I h-have.
Dr. Howard: We’re going to do everything we can to save her. Your sister is Toni Braxton, correct?
Tamar: Yeah. To the world she’s a super star but to me she’s just my big sister. I can’t lose her.
Dr. Howard: And you won’t. It was looking pretty bad for a moment. She suffered some broken bones and internal bleeding, but in the end she was able to pull through. Your sister is a fighter. You can go see her if you would like. I’ll escort you.
I smiled on the outside, but on the inside I was seething with anger. She wasn’t supposed to be alive. Janet was supposed to be mine after all of this. I guess if you want something done, you’ll have to do it yourself. As for my dumbass hit man, he will pay for Toni’s life with his own. Dr. Howard paused at Toni’s door.
Dr. Howard: She’s still a little out of it, but she’s alert enough to respond to sound and touch. I’ll give you as much time as you need with her.
Tamar: Thank you so much doctor.
My smile didn’t fade until I was sure he was gone. I threw the door open and stormed in. I liked seeing Toni hooked up to all those machines, in pain and vulnerable, but I would’ve liked it more if I was looking at her dead body in a casket.
Toni: T-Tamar y-you came? W-where’s J-Janet?
Tamar: Oh honey, you don’t remember do you?
Toni: R-remember w-what?
Tamar: You two got into a huge fight and she took her ring off. She said she never wanted to see you again and you couldn’t take it.
Toni: D-does she k-know I’m h-here?
Tamar: Yeah. I called and told her about your tragic accident, but she…You know what, I shouldn’t tell you. You’re already in enough pain and my heart can’t take seeing you like this.
Toni: T-tell me w-what?
Tamar: I wish I could’ve told you this under better circumstances, but when I called she said she’s glad you got into the accident and she hopes you die for breaking her heart.
Toni: N-no! J-Janet c-can s-say s-some h-hurtful t-things, b-but she w-would never say t-that! S-she w-would h-have c-came r-rushing to my s-side as s-soon as she h-heard the n-news.
Her voice was weak and strained, but her heart monitor was skyrocketing. I stroked her hair to calm her down so that the nurses wouldn’t come running in.
Tamar: I’m sorry to say it, but it’s true Tone. Honestly, you don’t need that toxicity in your life. You need to forget about her and focus on healing, physically and spiritually.
She screamed out Janet’s name before breaking down in tears. I rubbed her back in soothing circles and kissed her forehead.
Tamar: There ,there,big sister. Maybe she’ll come see you at your funeral.
Toni: What are you talking-
I cut her off by placing her pillow over her face. She put up a hell of a fight, but when it was all said and done the satisfying sound of a flatline filled the room. I took her phone off of her bedside nightstand. I was about to run and go get the doctor, but something shiny caught my eye and froze me in my tracks. Her ring. She had no more use for it, so I took it off of her cold finger and placed it on mine. I smiled, holding it up to the light to admire how perfectly it sparkled on my finger.
