Hao couldn’t believe this was the plan for the birthday surprise.

Of course, he is excited but he is also nervous.

He does love Hanbin but does Hanbin love him back?

Hao obviously knows Hanbin does love him back but is he ready to be in a relationship with Hao yet?

What if he gets rejected?

What if it gets awkward and they won’t even be able to stay as friends?

Hao tried his best to shake off the negative thoughts and just continued to look for a gift for Hanbin.

June 13th

6:00 AM

Hanbin woke up pretty early today. 

Since he doesn’t have to rush the first thing he did was check his phone. 

He scrolled through his text messages thanking everyone who wished him a happy birthday before scrolling further.

He chuckled. 

“It’s not there,” Hanbin spoke to himself seeing that the group chat they used for preparing Ricky’s and Matthew’s birthday surprise disappeared.

He knew that his friends were for sure planning something and he couldn’t help but wonder what.

After a few minutes of just scrolling through his phone, he got ready, ate breakfast, and went to school.

Time skip

At school

Hanbin arrived at school and went to his locker.

He was looking for his friends on the way and…

There they were! His best friends chatting with each other.

All of them were already there which was weird cause Hanbin isn’t usually the last one to arrive (it tends to be Ricky) but he still went up to them casually.

“Hey, guys!!” Hanbin greeted expecting something weird to happen.

“Hi Hanbin!!”

“Happy birthday!” They all wished him cheerfully.

“Thanks, guys!” Hanbin thanked with a big smile on his face.

Weird.

Nothing surprising happened…

After minutes of talking, they decided to let Hanbin open their gifts at Hanbin’s place after school.

Soon the bell rang and all of them hurried to their own classrooms.

Good news!

School ended soon for everybody!!! (no it didnt some of them skipped the rest of the school)

They were currently at Hanbin’s place arguing about whose gift he should open first.

“Open mine first!!”

“No mine!”

“Mine is the best so he should open it first!”

Classic.

Them fighting like little kids is so normal at this point that Hanbin was just staring at them.

Since no one won at the end Hanbin just decided to pick a random one each time.

He thanked everyone but before he could open his mouth to say something again Ricky spoke up.

“Sorry guys but I actually have something to do now. It’s important so I cant stay. But still, enjoy your day Hanbin hyung,” Ricky smiled at Hanbin who smiled back.

“I am going too. Sorry Hanbin hyung, happy birthday again!” Gyuvin said as both Ricky and him bid the others goodbye before leaving.

“Something important? Did they abandon me to go on a date?” Hanbin joked which made all of them laugh.

“Sorry, but I actually need to go too…”

“Same…sorry hanbin hyung,”

ring…ring…

Gunwooks phone rang, interrupting, as he excused himself before picking up the call.

“Yes?? Oh, shoot! I totally forgot about that! I will do it right now!” Gunwook hurriedly hung up.

“Sorry hyung but I have to get going too. I promised to come to my mom’s workplace to help her with urgent work. I totally forgot about it and my mom is struggling to keep up.”

“When is the deadline?” Matthew asked worriedly.

“In an hour!” Gunwook answered stressed out.

“I will come to help!” Matthew volunteered.

“Is that gonna be enough? Should I go too?” Hanbin asked.

“No no me and Matt are enough. You celebrate your birthday hyung!! I really have to go now bye guys!!” 

The door clicked shut making Hanbin look at the only people left.

Not even people but a person.

“I guess it’s just you and me Hao hyung” Hanbin said smiling at the older.

“I guess so,” Hao said smiling back.

Surprisingly they both decided and agreed on going to the amusement park!! (not actually surprising, hao planned it from the start and asked while hanbin just agreed to the “random” idea)

When they arrived at the amusement park the others were already there hiding behind everything and anything so they could stalk the two.

“On which ride are they going first?” Matthew asked squinting his eyes.

“It looks like they decided on the roller coaster,” Jiwoong assumed.

“Damn. Roller coaster as the first ride?” Gyuvin chuckled.

“Knowing Hao’s health, this could be either really good or really bad,” Ricky said making Taerae question.

“How come?”

“Hao will either feel sick and won’t be able to go on the other rides or he won’t feel sick and will be all cheered up, excited for the next rides,” Ricky explains knowingly as he knew Hao his entire life.

“Well let’s hope it’s the latter,” Gunwook commented others nodding.

“Oh, it’s their turn!” Yujin pointed as they watched the two sitting on the seats ready for the ride.

HANBIN’S POV

I and Hao hyung had just arrived at the amusement park and right away I saw a roller coaster.

Ever since I was little I loveeed roller coasters. It was always so thrilling and exciting. I knew right away that I wanted to go on it with Hao.

“Hao hyung let’s go there!!” I pointed towards the roller coaster excitedly.

“A-are you sure?” Hao asked with a hint of worry.

“Yes! I really want to go there!! But if you dont want to we dont have to of course!” I said when I noticed Hao hyung’s uneasy expression but hyung kept shaking his head.

“No, I can do it. Let’s go!” Hao smiled but I could tell he was nervous.

END OF HANBIN’S POV

HAO’S POV

“Hao hyung let’s go there!!” Hanbin said as he was pointing to…

a roller coaster.

My biggest nightmare.

I am not a big fan of heights so I never dared to even try to go on a roller coaster.

Looking up seeing how high it is plus people screaming at the top of their lungs…

I slightly shiver at the sight…terrifying.

I wanted to refuse so badly but seeing Hanbins excited expression…I couldn’t say no.

The anxiety was eating me alive though so I tried asking if he was sure he wanted to go there.

“Yes! I really want to go there!! But if you dont want to we dont have to of course!” Hanbin was so nice about it but I knew he would secretly be upset if we wouldnt go.

“Suck it up, Hao. Do it for him. You are not gonna disappoint him on his birthday, are you?? You should do anything he says today!” Hao scolded himself in his mind before clearing his throat.

“No, I can do it. Let’s go!” I tried to smile to show that I was ok with it.

While waiting in line I couldn’t help but think how the line was moving so fast.

Too fast for my liking.  

I prayed for my well-being and before I knew it, it was already our turn.

Hanbin and I sat down taking our seats.

I nervously held on to the rail in front of us closing my eyes tightly.

After a few seconds, I felt something warm on my hands making me open my eyes to see someone holding my hand.

I looked at the owner of the hand and it was Hanbin (of course).

END OF HAO’S POV

“Are you sure you can do this hyung??” Hanbin asked worriedly as he rubbed Hao’s back trying to calm him down.

Although he was excited his hyung’s safety and comfort were more important.

“Yes. I can do it,” Hao assured as he took a deep breath.

“Remember I am always beside you. Just hold on to me when you’re scared,” Hanbin said intertwining their hands making both of them blush at the contact.

Their lovey-dovey moment was cut off when the roller coaster started moving.

“Here goes nothing,” Hao thought to himself.

“Pfft look at Hao hyung!” Gunwook laughed as he saw Hao screaming at the top of his lungs while clinging on to Hanbin who was just laughing.

“I knew he was gonna be like that” Ricky also laughed as he took out his phone recording them so he could tease Hao later.

“You are evil for that Kim Ricky” Gyuvin backhugged Ricky while laughing his ass off as Ricky was recording Hao’s suffering.

“I know,” Ricky replied turning to Gyuvin winking at him receiving a tickling session from Gyuvin.

“Aish this couple” Jiwoong sighed looking at the lovebirds in front of him.

“Goodness, y’all are all so annoying. I hate PDA.” Yujin complained while side-eyeing Matthew, Taerae, and Gunwook who were squealing at the Gyuricky interaction (they are so me help).

“They are so fucking cuteee”

“I know righttt”

“omg omg omg our ships are sailing”

Jiwoong and Yujin just looked at each other before sighing for the 15642th time that day.

“I cant”

“Same”

“Let’s get out of here. Let them do this shit themselves.” Jiwoong suggested and Yujin quickly agreed.

HAO’S POV

“The ride was over.”

“No fucking way.”

“Did I really just survive that shit??”

“And I am not feeling sick??”

“Omfg”

“Never again though”

Hao’s mind flooded with thoughts as he got out of his seat along with Hanbin.

“Hyung are you ok?” Hanbin asked hugging his Hao hyung who nodded.

“Yeah. Thank you for comforting me or else I wouldn’t make it” Hao said dramatically making both of them laugh.

“Where should we go next?” Hanbin asked.

“It’s your birthday bin. You choose” Hao giggled.

“Let’s go there then!” Hanbin said while already dragging Hao over.

Time skip

Throughout the day, Hanbin and Hao were just enjoying themselves. Occasionally when Hao didnt know what to do he texted their group chat (without hanbin ofc) and they always texted back with a suggestion.

Everything was surprisingly going well!

Hao has to thank the others later he noted to himself.

It was getting late though and they were getting tired (including the matchmakers) so they decided on a last attraction.

The ferris wheel.

Romantic huh?

The two sat next to each other while looking at the night view from high up.

“Wow so pretty!” Hanbin complimented while taking pictures.

“I know right!” Hao agreed while acting like he was also taking pictures.

In reality, though he was actually arguing with the others in the group chat.

“I LOVE YOU” Hao confessed rather loudly making Hanbin a little taken aback.

“W-what?” Hanbin asked with eyes wide.

“I- I mean sorry uh…I love you” Hao confessed with his head hung low his face red as a tomato.

Embarrassed Hao felt his chin being lifted up. His eyes locked with Hanbin as he saw Hanbin smiling brightly at him.

“I love you too hyung. So much”

“R-really?” Hao cursed himself for stuttering so much.

“Yes, hyung. I do. Will you be my boyfriend?” Hanbin asked.

“No.

Of course, I will bin.” Hao said before hugging Hanbin tightly. Hanbin though after a few seconds pulled away from the hug, and cupped Hao’s cheeks instead before kissing him passionately. 

He felt Hao kissing him back soon making him smile.

Safe to say this was Hanbin’s best birthday ever.
