Hanbin x Y/N
Fluff
Amidst the Bustle pt.2
.
You’ve been in Singapore for the last week for a business trip, which meant that you missed your boyfriend’s first ever concert. Good news was that their next stop was Singapore, and you were able to stay behind and watch the concert before heading back to Seoul again.
Over the last weekend, you attended meeting after meeting and numerous business events. Hanbin, on the other hand, was very busy with his concerts, which marked the beginning of his world tour.
Your boss had probably realised that he had been making you work an inhumane number of hours. Hence, after the social event with his business partners during the late afternoon on Sunday, he finally let you and your colleagues have some free time. The only thing you wanted to do was head back to the hotel to wind down.
You sat by the bathroom tub as you waited for it to fill up, checking messages and scrolling through your socials. You opened up X, and the first post that popped up was a video of Gunwook breaking down. Your heart clenched seeing Gunwook letting out all his bottled-up emotions like that. You knew it must not have been easy for him, for all nine of them. You witnessed how Hanbin struggled and persisted on his journey to become an idol, as well as all the hardships that followed after his debut, so you knew it must have been similar for the whole team.
You sat into the tub as you scrolled down the page, and the next thing you saw was Hanbin choking in tears.
“Please don’t have a change of heart, and let’s see each other again.” His voice trembled.
You instantly felt a lump in your throat. You swear Hanbin’s your greatest weakness, and you could never bear to see him vulnerable.
You wished you could be there to give him a hug. You regretted not ditching work and flying back for his first concert because you knew it would remain a big regret even though he kept on reassuring you that he would have many more concerts to come and you would always have a ticket. But the first one is always particularly special and memorable, so you couldn’t help but feel sad about missing such an important occasion. Also, you knew it wasn’t true when he said there would be many more to come, at least not as a member of Zerobaseone.
You sent him a message teasing him despite feeling complicated.
I heard that someone cried during their concert
You’re totally talking about Gunwookie and Yujinie
Yeah totally😌
You feeling okay now?
Yes. I just got a bit emotional
I wish I could show you how beautiful it was to look at the sea of lights from the stage
It was a moment I want to remember forever
Wish I was there with you
You were, Y/N
You’re always with me, in my heart
You better get here soon so you’ll be with me in person
I will be. Very soon!
Are you still at work?
No, I just got back to the hotel
I’m having a bath
You’re making me want to teleport to Singapore and join you
You pervert
Hahaha, have some well-deserved rest, and I’ll call you tonight😘
If you’re too tired, I can call you tomorrow instead. I’ve got a day off.
I want a day off tooðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Tonight’s fine. I’m not too tired.
Most importantly, I miss you a lot.
A lot.
Miss you loads too. I’ll talk to you later thenâ¤ï¸

Work in Singapore was coming to an end. You were having a company dinner to wrap things up on Friday night, and your colleagues would be leaving the next morning.
If you know Koreans, dinners never stop after one round, especially in a bustling place like Singapore. Throughout dinner, your colleagues were excited about going out for drinks afterwards to enjoy the dazzling nightlife in the city, yet the only thing on your mind was how to excuse yourself.
“Bujang-nim,” you went up to your manager. “Would you mind if I leave after dinner? I have a friend in Singapore who asked if they could meet up with me.”
“Sure. It’s technically off-work hours.”
“Thank you.”
“Are you meeting up with your secret lover?” Seongmin, one of your colleagues, overheard you and teased. ‘Secret lover’ was an inside joke that started when he found out you were staying behind for another day, not knowing that you actually had one.
“Secret lover?” asked the manager.
“We were joking about Y/N-ssi having a secret lover here in Singapore, which was why she’s staying behind.” Seongmin explained.
“What’s the actual reason?”
“Her ‘secret lover’ is an idol group. She’s staying behind to watch a concert.” Seongmin didn’t realise that what he intended to be a joke was in fact real. Your secret lover was indeed in an idol group.
“I didn’t know you were a fangirl, Y/N-ssi.” Another one of your colleagues remarked. “Is it Stray Kids you’re watching?”
“Nope, it’s Zerobaseone.” Seongmin replied before you.
It was a weird feeling talking to your colleagues about Zerobaseone as if your boyfriend wasn’t one of the members. You kept your relationship with Hanbin very private. Outside of his group and company, only both of your families and a few of your closest mutual friends knew. You didn’t even mention to your colleagues that you were in a relationship. Instead, you said you didn’t want to date to turn down all potential suitors.
You went straight to Hanbin’s hotel after dinner. He was still in rehearsals, but his manager was there to bring you to his room.
You closed your eyes to rest and eventually drifted off to sleep on the tiny sofa while waiting for him.
You were woken up by the unlocking sound of the electronic door lock. Before you knew it, you were in Hanbin arms. He lifted you up and sat you down again on his lap, your arms wrapped around his neck.
“It’s not even been two weeks.” He hugged you ever so tightly. You and Hanbin only met briefly during Chuseok when you had dinner with his family. He then got busy with rehearsals, and you flew to Singapore for your business trip. A lot has happened in the span of this week. “Why does it feel like it’s been forever?”
“You must be tired from rehearsals.” You played with his bleached hair.
“That’s why I’m recharging now.” He nuzzled your neck.
“I’ve been out all day.” You instinctively moved away from him. “I must smell like sweat.”
“And I’ve been dancing all day.” He pulled you in again and started leaving kisses on your neckline. “You smell amazing. You used the perfume I gave you, didn’t you?”
The two of you cuddled and talked about your day until it was around midnight.
“Binnie, I should probably go now. You still have a concert tomorrow.”
“How I wish I could ask you to stay.” He had no intention to release you from his arms.
“You rest well, and I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“How are you going back to your hotel? Do you want me to order a Grab for you?”
“No, it’s okay. My hotel isn’t that far from here. I’ll walk back.”
“It’s late though. I’ll ask Manager Hyung to walk you back.”
“Don’t bother him. I’ll be fine, Bin.”
“Talk to me on the phone until you get back then.”
“Okay.” You didn’t want to make him worry about you. “Also, anything you want to eat? I’ll go buy us food after the concert tomorrow. You probably had enough of room service.”
“Let’s go for something local. I’ll leave it for you to decide.”
“I’ll make sure to fill your stomach with good food.”
.
It’s been half a year since you’ve seen Hanbin perform on stage. After his fan-con in Japan, you haven’t been able to attend any of his other shows, so you were very excited about this concert.
Hanbin reserved a VIP seated ticket for you. You were almost sure he specifically asked to save you this seat because you were directly facing his official standing position—slightly to the right of the centre of the stage.
Following the loud playing of ‘Good So Bad’, the boys walked out to the main stage in their casual outfits. Hanbin had once again dyed his hair pink, which made it very easy to spot him, not that you needed that extra bit of help.
He started doing all sorts of fan service the moment he got on stage, searching for every single one of his fans in the standing pens, fulfilling every request he saw. The joy on his face when he greeted his fans was so genuine that it raised the corners of your lips. When he finally came out to the extended stage, he located you in the spectator stand right away. He didn’t do anything special, but from how his eyes glistened in a subtly different way, you knew he was looking at you.
For the rest of the night, you transformed into the biggest Hanbin fan girl. Hanbin had once asked how you would usually act when you watch him perform.
“I don’t think you’ll want to see that side of me. I go a bit crazy,” was what you told him.
And you weren’t exaggerating at all because as soon as you heard him say, “Did you guys see my Artist Of The Month?” You screamed your lungs out, knowing what he was planning to do.
Oh, he absolutely knew how much you loved that performance. You wouldn’t stop swooning over his AOTM video to the point where he asked you to stop looking at the Hanbin on your phone and look at the one next to you instead. Yes, he got jealous of himself.
If he doesn’t do another private performance for you tonight, you are totally going to dote on the Sung Hanbin on your phone in place of him.
The show ended in a blink of an eye. It was like you were brought to a colourful, fantasy realm, and before you knew it, it vanished. Walking out of the stadium, you found yourself grounded in reality once again. Fortunately for you, it meant that idol Hanbin would be transforming into boyfriend Hanbin.
You went to buy food with a refreshed and gleeful mind before meeting up with Hanbin again at his hotel.
“Gosh, babe, how did you manage to bring back so much food? It must have been very heavy.” Hanbin took all the plastic bags you were holding into his hands as soon as he opened the door for you. “This seems like a bit too much food for the two of us.”
“Hehe, I couldn’t decide what to get, so I got a bit of everything. I figured we could share with the others.”
“They’ll be so happy. They’ve all been talking about not being able to go out for food.”
“I got chilli crab, which you guys have been talking about. I also got bak kut teh, some satay, as well as flat rice noodles. Oh, and mango dessert for Gyuvin. I wanted to buy durian for Hao Oppa, but I didn’t think it’s allowed in the hotel.”
He pulled you in intensely and left a kiss on the top of your head, clearly struck by your sweet act of love, which extended to his members.
“Thank you, Y/N-ah.”
“You’re very welcome.”
The other boys came dashed over to the room after receiving Hanbin’s message on the group chat telling them there was food bought for them.
“Noona, you’re honestly the best!” Gyuvin exclaimed when he saw the mango dessert specifically bought for him.
By the time Gunwook and Matthew finished their live, most of the food had already been devoured.
“Y/N, you didn’t leave anything for me?” Matthew whined disappointedly.
“Didn’t the two of you just have dinner?” You giggled at the pouty Matthew.
“Yeah, but still.”
“Of course she left food for the two of you.” Hanbin took out a box of food that you had packed earlier for the two.
“I knew Noona would never do that to us.” Gunwook buttered you up.
They then left with their food, giving you and Hanbin some privacy.
“Did you have enough? You didn’t really eat much.” Hanbin noticed you had been making sure everyone got their food and had only taken a few bites.
“Yeah, I’m not hungry.”
“Y/N, can’t you stay here tonight?” He took your hand and swung it back and forth.
“All my stuff’s at my hotel, and I still have to check out tomorrow morning.”
“I’ll go and get your stuff with you. We can also sneak out for some photos.”
“I don’t know if that’s a good idea, Bin.”
“Manager Hyung said it’d be fine as long as he’s coming with us.”
“Huh, so you had everything planned out.”
He flashed a cheeky smile at you.
The two of you managed to go on a short drive around the city centre of Singapore and had a quick glimpse of the landmarks from the car. The car stopped by the promontory at Marina Bay, and Hanbin immediately dragged you out of the car.
“What are we doing?” You were attacked by a mixture of confusion, surprise, and fear.
The two of you walked with lowered heads all the way to where you could see the whole of Marina Bay Sands on your right with the Singapore Flyer in the background. You could also faintly see the Merlion in the far distance on the left, next to the glamorous Fullerton Hotel.
Hanbin wasted no time and pulled out his phone to take a few selfies with you before handing his manager the phone for more photos. The three of you then scurried back to the car.
“What was that?” You could still feel your racing heartbeat from the sudden thrill and stress.
“I’ve hardly been able to go on any trips with you, and I doubt that it’ll be possible in the near future. While we’re in a different country, a few photos of us with the city’s brilliant night view was the least I could do for us.”
“You should have covered up properly if you were planning to step out of the car. Your hoodie and your pink hair literally scream your name.” You swore anxiety and fear took over the control panel while you were out of the car.
“I knew you’d stress about it. That’s why I didn’t tell you beforehand. Y/N, we were literally out for two minutes. No one saw us. We’ll be fine, okay?” He reassured you.
Okay, you have to say, though: looking at the photos, you were glad he did that.
After checking out of your hotel, you went back with Hanbin. He took a shower and then asked if he could do a live while you showered. You said yes, of course. You took your time in the bathroom, and when you came out of the bathroom, you heard him replying to an English comment.
“Can I marry you?” He read out the comment and laughed it off. “Hahaha.”
You quietly went back into the bathroom until he ended his live.
“Why didn’t you come out?” He tittered when he found you waiting in the bathroom.
“You would have ended your live early if I came out sooner.”
“Baby, you don’t have to be so considerate at all times. It’s okay to complain, and it’s okay to want me all for yourself at times.” He locked you in his arms, looking down at you.
“I do actually have a few requests.”
“I’m listening.”
“I need a live 4K version of your AOTM performance exclusive for me.”
“Hahahaha, you liked it when I did it on stage, didn’t you?”
“You would not have wanted to be next to me. I never knew I was capable of screaming like that.”
“Now I’m super curious.”
“Not a chance.”
“Performing for you is probably one of the easiest things. I’ll do it anytime, whenever you ask for it. Do you have a more challenging request?”
“Are you sure you’re up for a challenge?”
“Bring it on.”
“Can I marry you?” You asked in English the same question he replied to in his live.
“Is this a proposal?”
“Maybe.” Your eyes rolled side to side.
“Where’s my ring? How about flowers?”
“I’m sorry, my Princess Hanbin. I did not come well-prepared.”
“Hahahaha, are you being serious, though? Do you actually want to marry me?”
“Do I not look like I want to marry you?”
“We haven’t really talked about marriage, so…”
“I mean, it’s probably a bit too early to talk about that. We have at least another 10 years till we’re ready to proceed to that stage. And things might change between us in the meantime.” You shrugged your shoulders, acknowledging that there would be uncertainty lying ahead. “But at least for now, you feel like the one. Everything feels right when I’m with you.”
His heart felt so full, making him speechless. He gazed at you with eyes full of love and finally landed a kiss on your lips. He let you go for a brief moment to get something from his suitcase.
“Never thought that this would come in handy.” He took a ring out of the small blue Swarovski box he held in his hand. “I was going to give it to you as a gift, but I guess it could act as a promise ring now.”
He took your right hand and carefully slid it onto your ring finger.
“Marry me, Y/F/N. I don’t know when. Maybe in 10 years or even more, but I’m so marrying you.”
